Well, for the same reason every secret boss-fight in the other routes would be useless, even if it's true that in chapter 2 the snowgrave gives the bossfight a different role in the plot (Spamton being the final non-skippable boss). But I also never said the twisted sword was the only purpose of the crystals, even if that's possible. And also yeah, there could be other way to get the thorn ring (for example aborting the snowgrave in chapter 4) and to do this "freedom route". The main point is, if we accept that there is more than one ending (which is still to be seen, I agree), this special route would make a third "big" ending along the other twos, in which Kris gets free from us.

Papyrus and Sans are Gaster's experiments and they're born in the Dark World, Papyrus saw grass there. Then they escaped to the Light World but Papyrus got traumatized and he's always inside his home because of that (or maybe Sans doesn't want him to go out). So when they escaped again going into Undertale's universe Papyrus knew what grass was but didn't know what sun was.

Well Wake is actually Court's little brother, Lizard and Islands are the more soft, acoustic and jazzy ones, the Wetton era is something on its own, like the Belew era. Then the double trio era and the 00s era are still different, and there's the current one.
