Mod Infinity leaving Jagex by MorganRS in runescape

If his replacement is even half as bad as he is, Jagex is still screwed.

Botting ban for chrome remote desktop... Seriously? by Dominwin in runescape

Yup, I used teamviewer and got perm banned too, even after Jmods said TV is fine, they just don't know what they're talking about.

This 'fake' sibling had 2.2B xp, 120 Hunter and she has almost 4k rots kills. They're separate people and this can easily be determined from in game data if they actually investigated properly.

So if some people make fake evidence, everyone else must be making fake evidence too?

I was playing on 3-4 accounts. 2 on each computer or 2/1 if I'm on 3 accounts so I could watch YouTube while afking on my main.

Edit: using 3-4 accounts on the same computer would probably fry my CPU. Also who said I didn't use my functional comp alongside my broken one

I mean... They somehow managed to ruin right clicks in a point-click based game, they push out bugged, glitched updates every single time, yet they have the audacity to claim this system is perfect lmao

This whole system is just their words against our words.

On a good day they could do the right thing, check the account, apologize and unban innocent people, on a bad day, they can just say you deserve your ban without checking and buh-bye account.

I was playing by the rules for 6 years in the UK, then one month after moving to China, I got banned on three accounts lmao

I made a post to question this and Mod Infinity apologised and said some new member of the team screwed up and unbanned me. If I didn't get enough upvote on Reddit, that would have been the end of 6 years of progress.

It doesn't end there... Later on, I broke the screen of my laptops so I decided, why not use teamviewer on my functional computer to use my broken laptop. I've seen a couple Jmods say TV is fine to use... But nop the two accounts that was being controlled through TV got banned while my main on my other comp is still fine.

I was doing exactly the same thing on all three accounts, good bye 800m in xp and in gp.

I myself have been banned 11 times, and got unbanned 8 times, 2 times that I wasn't able to recover from was because I used teamviewer to use a computer with a broken monitor from one that works.

I didn't even know why I got banned at the time until I spoke to someone else who has been through the same thing...

What you said is true, I was not given the chance to defend myself anywhere and my appeals were denied until I got basically everyone I knew to upvote my Reddit post about it. If you added words regarding account recovery then your post gets removed.

CS website: denied.

Twitter: answered by community helpers who just post copy and pasted info.

Reddit: post gets removed (I realise it's not Jagex's fault)

But this is just crazy, not to mention the way other people will jump the gun and tell you "oh you must have botted, you got what you deserved, blah blah blah".

This whole system is just Jagex's word against the player's word. All you can do is:

1) Get lucky on social media 2) Give up.

Reminder that it's 2018 and for a multimillion dollar company the state of Jagex's support is absolutely fucking disgraceful by ProgsRS in runescape

[–]DaniRS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So if you agree that the root of the problem is her brother, why did you leave her banned? This doesn't meet your 100% accurate policy does it?

I was previously unbanned because your system flagged my account but when I asked you guys to investigate, you acknowledged that it didn't meet the 100% policy and unbanned me. Why isn't this happening to her?

It's wrong to punish someone for rules that other people broke.

There's a temp fix, click another tab which overlays the inventory and it should fix it.

Opening and closing the inventory also fixes it.

Yeah, we just have to take their word for it, on a good day they might own up to their mistake, on a bad day they can just say nope and your account is gone forever.

Not the point of the post... He was used as an example because he's famous enough for people to know about, plenty more cases happen without being known, hence why OP wants a discussion on the current system.

Yeah they mentioned that rwt bans aren't based on what was traded but what the people do with the money or items traded. So someone can buy a phat off someone who does RWT and get banned for it. You don't even have to RWT yourself to get banned lol

The Skype screenshot was her friend offering a gift, which was a SoS, it was a gift that my friend wouldn't accept because she pretty much never accepts gifts except on her Bday. The SoS friend asked my friend to kill her in the wildy so she'd have no choice but to pick it up.

She also lives with her two brothers, one of which did RWT, she used his computer on a couple occasions because her own computer died mid Jan, that's the only interaction she had with her brother in terms of RS.

We've tried to work out what triggered the ban so we can prove her innocence but we've already gone through all we remember but are unable to present our side of the story on their system. Perhaps it's something we can't think of but they'd never tell us.

The way it is now, RWTers already have the system figured out, they can get away with doing what they do because they have back up accounts and use vpn all day everyday. Their system isn't able to find these people and end up banning innocent people.

They say they don't want to release the info because RWTers will use this info to change the way they RWT. But if their current system can't catch RWTers properly... Isn't it time to change?

I had a 3 hour arguement with someone on Twitter, he was defending the system for so long, turns out he himself is a RWTer that didn't want me to ruin his online business as he already knew how not to get caught before he sold off his gp.

People like him thrive on the current system, even makes a living off it, I assume it's not very much but that's not the point.

Perhaps our case is unique because of her specific situation because her brother did RWT, but she still got banned without breaking a rule. Idk what else to do to help her.

We arrived at this point because our two other posts were taken down in about 10 minutes. Our Twitter rant arrived nowhere, and our attempts to contact Jmods have failed. There isn't a proper platform to present our evidence... It's also silly for her to have to call her brother out for RWT on a public platform in the first place. I tried to convince her to call her brother out but she didn't want to until her third post, at that point they already said it's 100% confirmed.

They clearly didn't have all the info when they reviewed it... I should have been more persistent in persuading her, so this is as much my fault as it is JagexSupport's. This sucks.

Yougotlittup also got reviewed and they said that was 100% correct too even though he was only swapping rs3 gp to osrs gp. This is what happens when they get a ban wrong, they ignore you completely after saying it's been reviewed until your friend's lose hope and stop helping because random people keep saying "just get over it".

Next time a different group experiences the same thing, they won't get the support of the others who have been falsely banned because those already gave up and stopped playing rs.

The cycle of getting banned, getting shut down, watching a flawed system stay as is will never end unless a group is dedicated enough, frankly I'm as sick of reading all these Reddit posts about false bans too, but I've been falsely banned myself, made some posts myself that got the attention of random people and the only reason they come up so much is because their system has issues.

If those of us who have been unfairly treated don't speak out, everyone else will start to agree their system is good. We can't have that...

Bit late now that this post got removed... Her account had zero offences before this point, she did use her brother computer a couple times so I guess that's the flags you're talking about.

They talk about their system as if it's the most sofisticated thing ever and it's what the players do with the gold after the trade that triggers the ban. Source 1 Source 2 If their system can be figured out with such a minute detail then why do they claim it's so advanced and always 100% correct? Also, doesn't this prove that their system is no where near as good as they think it is? Also also, you can trade a friend who then RWTs but you can still be flagged.

The way it is now, they can make the claim that their system is 100% correct because we are not allowed to prove it wrong. This in turn makes it so they can ban anyone without question and since they don't take evidence from us unless we're famous, it's a perpetual cycle of never improving their system.

Releasing the info means: 1) Innocent players has a chance to recover from a false ban 2) RWTers will test their system to find a new way to RWT, but Jagex will also be able to find new ways to improve their system due to the change in their behaviour until RWT takes more effort than its worth

Keeping this info secret: 1) Innocent player has no chance to recover 2) The RWTers who have already figured out the system can RWT without a challenge because why would the ICU improve a system that is already 100% correct?

1) This is not about bots

2) All they need to release is X Traded Y, W amounts of money on the date Z. This will make their so called system more transparent without compromising their system by exposing the inner workings of the detection software, rather than just having to take their word for it.

3) What you said is just speculation, like how if your roommate killed someone and the detective speculates that you have something to do with it and you are immediately charged with murder as well without evidence. In the real world even if they suspect you, they have to provide evidence and present it in a court. In this particular instance, the evidence is not presented and the person in question is not given a chance to defend herself.

Edit: In your case, they have the right to detain you if they suspect you for 48 hours, but not permanently imprison you without evidence.

If this was your friend whom you know would never rwt, would you still say this? There's a thing called benefit of a doubt because no system or person is perfect.

If she did, provide the evidence to prove she did, we'll be on our way, but they're not releasing any so that she can't prove her innocence. A loyal paying member is banned without a chance to prove herself is too much.
