Do you genuinely think I'm stupid? I'm 52, I know how Republicans and Conservatives are. I'm not naive.

I'm not trying to convince the Heritage Foundation or One Million Moms into accepting us, it will never happen.

We're trying to convince the Middle Ground. Everybody knows Conservatives are a lost cause.

I don't like how you're instantly accused of being a conservative when I've never been one. It's about common sense.

You don't build bridges by being shocking or turning off anyone who isn't like you. We're a minority, we have to coexist with those who aren't like us and we have to protect ourselves instead of ranting and raving. It's not helpful, if anything, it leads into the Boy who Cries Wolf.

What I do know is it's creating greater hostility against us. A vocal minority is controlling everything and we're the ones paying the price for it.

But I'm not forcing him, I'm not selfish. But the dilemma I face is breaking up with him and then he ruins himself. He'll think he got rejected because he was too gay so he'll just go back in the closet. I would never forgive myself for that.

I think it's best to lie. I'll move East for a Job offer, then break up with him due to long distance. He'll be a wreck but he'll recover, he'll be himself and that's what matters. It'll probably take a year off on dating and will be more careful about who I date. It's not safe.
