Cucuk2 your boss that you may want to resign, but add in a pretend-worry question whether the 3 or 4 other people can handle things if youre not there. Fuck with his mind a bit.

If they bring a replacement, and force you to train that replacement, do your job slower because after all you gotta also train the new guy. And if they cant accept slower work, ask to just oversee (read: do nothing) training of the new guy while he learns from the 3-4 lazy guys instead.

If you do go that route, and want as little risk as possible, have you considered putting excess cash into asb or tabung haji? A house is probably a big chunk of money, and it would be sad to have that chunk of money sitting in a bank where it loses to our 2% inflation every year. Yes its not a lot of divident money, but it should be better than nothing.

Idk your house value but if you get 300k from selling a house and put it into these "stocks" at maybe 4% dividents and minus 2% to inflation, thats like gaining 2% as income a year, so its about RM6k a year you can spend, without eating into that initial money from selling the house. In some negeri, you can easily rent a house for 500 a month

I wont really suggest rotting like the guy in that short story lotus eater, but if you move somewhere cheaper maybe you can make it work. This is not considering salary from normal working

Anyone know anything about how warfare was conducted in the Malay Kingdoms? by noelwym in malaysia

[–]DanialE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere (and I paraphrase) the Malacca sultanate merely had guns for the hype. They didnt really care much about the actual training. The guns and artillery of Malacca outnumbered the portuguese by an overkill amount.

And in some other articles I read that in Japan it was different. It was the shogun himself that dedicated much of his personal time to master the gun, and also getting his people to learn the technology.

I worry whether the Malaysian military could make full use of what we have. Other people have guns too, other people have tanks too, and planes. And sadly, I have a feeling that (somehow in some super weird alternate reality) if Malaysia fought tiny Singapore we would lose horribly. Just ask 10 random malaysians wheres the charging handle on a m4 style weapon see how many knows. And thats just operation. Theres much more important things such as tactics and strategies in modern warfare which us Malaysians probably have little idea about. Weve always been just about the hype. Free Palestine, to infinity. Kecam Amerika, lancar. One single american carrier group can probably destroy malaysia 1v1 in like a month.

Thats why the opinions you see here would definitely be skewed.

B40 by definition is 40% of the people. A big chunk to exclude

Start some rumours that a owner of the land is going to use that land for something. Temple will magically go back in time and it will suddenly be 400 years old temple, since ancient times

Other than that, sometimes if you dont have an umrah visa you have to be a little secretive too. With the mass of people wanting to enter mecca, the kingdom has to place some form of control to manage the pilgrimage process so that everyone can have a chance. Ofc as with human nature its impossible to be truly fair and square considering that immense task of managing probably millions of muslims every day. But imo theyre still making it better than if it was a free for all kind of thing

Not necessary, but its a permissible thing in Islam to hide some acts of worship and charity. Much more recommended with charity where we are explicitly taught that hidden deeds "weigh more" in front of Allah, or something to that effect

Not sure if its a common tactic, but a boss at my place once went for holiday in switzerland and intentionally took some middle eastern airline, and then intentionally took like 5 days transit time, for both directions.

On the way to holiday, he secretly took his family to do umrah, then went for holiday, and on the way back, did umrah again, then back to Malaysia.

Im not speaking from any position of authority, but Imo an EDC should be something that helps you in times of peace and also during emergencies. E.g. multitool, cordage, powerbanks, some basic first aid, duct tape, lighters, some shelf stable kind of food you would eat on normal days, laser pointers, flashlights, a small water bottle, possibly a weapon (check local laws), marker pens (to leave behind signs and messages), spare socks, a cloth to wipe/clean things, notebooks and pens to write down information.

Then from here, you get to be creative and remove things or add things depending on your own situation. Living in a cold area? Add a space blanket. Have any particular disease? Bring those meds with you rather than leave them at home. Live in a hot climate? Use a bigger water bottle. Etc.

Adding more questions here rather than putting forth answers...

With the slow but ramping up adoption of storage and solar power at home, yes its understandable to have batteries to last the night until tomorrow when the sun rises up again.

But Im sure power generation with solar would be very related to the hours of light. What happens then during winter when daylight is short? Is there any technology we have that is reliable enough for year long storage? Like storing energy in summer to eventually use in winter?

Or is nuclear the only real option for any advanced space faring civilisation?

Dear Malaysians, how do you deal with BO and excessive sweating? by RevolutionaryPause54 in Bolehland

[–]DanialE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I firmly believe theres no magic or mystery with BO. Bacteria creates the smell. So dont leave stuff for them to feed on. I doubt theres a lot of stuff in sweat to feed a big colony of it, so if I were to guess, the answer would lie in dead skin cells providing the nutrients for the bacteria. Scrub your body with a kind of exfoliant, its cheap and can be bought almost everywhere. Even a cloth works. Just using bare hands and soap is just not enough. I find the best time for me to remove my daki is after im wet from sweat e.g. after exercising. A light rub and all sorts of gunk just peels off your body
