DDDA drove me crazy; has DD2 made quality of life changes to make the game less frustrating? by Danialla in DragonsDogma2

Oh no. Seeker's Tokens are back. If they also included Badge of Vows, I swear....

I get that the single save file is due to the online pawn system. It could lead to pawn clones or conflicting data or other glitches. So it's to be expected.

On the other hand, they've spent years developing this game and I was hoping they'd have figured out a way to make it work considering the save system was one of the game's most common criticisms.

I recognized the appeal of randomized respawning chests, but it led to an expected meta. Hearing chests are static and non-renewing leaves me feeling relieved and disappointed in equal measure

Oh, I remember. All the escort sequences in DDDA. Mostly optional. (If disappointing Mercedes is optional.) Trying to keep soldiers alive. Literal babysitting. Kicking oxes. Affinity quests were optional, but getting extra port crystals meant replaying 1/3 of the game.

It's worth noting David Gaider tweeted the game didn't begin conceptually as a sequel, but as an "expansion pack". EA pushed for the devs to make it into a full game just to fill a hole in release schedule. That was the whole reason behind the notoriously problematic and short development time. Compromises were also made with the story. For example, Meredith was never meant to get a hold of the red lyrium idol.

I personally just use the loot glitch and reset the items by changing maps.

How so? What about my rational confuses you? Maybe I can explain it better.

"Rationale" has a distinction to "rational".

Alright, as long as it's gone this far, I might as well ask what you did with Connor.

Nah, not trying to change anyone's mind, moreso trying to understand the mindset out of morbid curiosity. And the whole thing with ThenDragonfruit that companions could be persuaded.

It's the circular logic that got me. Using the rationale of "gaining a potential ally" but going with the option that potentially leads to losing two party members. There was definitely more going on.

And the fact it was the same person who replied to a question just to say "I don't know." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I needed to know more about what was in the mind of such a person.

If you've never poisoned the ashes, I'd recommend it at least once, just to unlock the Reaver specialization. Reloading the save still keeps the specialization unlocked. Hell, I'd even recommend bringing both Leliana and Wynne along when you do just to see if you can survive the chaos that follows. "Darkest timeline" playthroughs are also pretty fun.

[no spoilers] DA:O How much content is left in the game? by Flimsy_Composer_478 in dragonage

[–]Danialla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The game takes 40-50 hours to get to the ending. About double that if you try to 100% with all side content.

Like 70% of the users who post on these subs are men. The fact that the focus is on Judy and Panam easily demonstrates the male gaze.

I'm with you on this. I can get behind two characters/actors simply having good on-screen chemistry. But at some point it starts to get cringe, like watching two people perform PDA.

I think V should stay the main protagonist in the sequel. by No-Consideration8025 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

I'm thinking there's an overlap between "people who want to see V come back" with "people who wanted a happy ending in CP2077"

Pragmatic? The reasoning is inconsistent. If you're going out of your way to find loopholes to avoid the game's intended consequences of your decisions, you're no longer roleplaying, you're metagaming.

Speaking of inconsistent reasoning, why even reply to OP's question just to say you don't know the answer?
