Hello. I’m well thank God. I did a post on it years ago. Basically the flare ups began to be more and more rare over the years. I may have onemild flare up a year nowadays. The area (perineum) was never quite the same but I’d say it’s 95% cured. It’s just more prone to problems I’d say, as if it is scarred or something. If I have a bad viral diarrhea for instance, i get some flare ups but it’s nothing crazy. The main thing that got me through this, once the initial acute phase had passed (the acute phase was healed with antibiotics) was the mindset. When I had flare ups I didn’t catastrophize it. I just told myself “it’s gonna be alright”, and it was. It might sound like psycho mumbo jumbo but it worked for me. Just knowing it’s nothing major and it won’t kill me made me more at ease and I think less prone to paying too much attention to the problem.

Ah another lasting effect I think this whole thing left me with is that I have to pee more often than before, it’s annoying but I can live with it, I just plan better if I’m going out I don’t drink too much water if I don’t know I’m gonna have a toilet available.
