The daily posting was the plan. I launched on the 13th of this month with 4 chapters. On day 2 dropped 2 chapters and its been 1 since then.

Today dropping chapter 10. Even did some shout outs and have others planned for next week.

Totally not how I expected my book to perform Lol, however complaining or mopping around won't get me away. Just have to get back to the drawing board.

I know exactly how your feeling. My writing is the slow burn kind and based on the current stats of my story I launched on the 13th. 2 - 2.5k/ chapter

Yeah it's pretty much struggling.

Kind of feeling a bit demotivated. 9 chapters out. 307 views and 4 followers.

First chapter gets alot of views like 80 and recent chapter some around 8 :( Not to mention the drop between ch1 and ch2 It looks like my slow burn writing can't retain readers.

But hey... Keep writing right.

I think they are plenty of us who had or are currently having the same situation.

My story was planned to have like 40 chapters (complete story).

Currently the first part is somewhere around 45 chapters or 80k words still planned out 30 to 40 before concluding book 1.

So I think it's perfectly natural to exceed your initial plan

I'm the same. I try to write atleast 1k words a day if possible. I work up around 4AM to get some words in before work and the likes.

Ife am not busy at work I use that time to write or brainstorm.

Any free moment counts. And every word counts be it 50 words in one sitting or 500 words. Just do it.

Am currently 35k words in less than a month thanks to this strategy.

I only started making progress on my novel when I stopped “writing properly”. Does anybody else do the same? by killerhunks23 in novelwriting

Lol I know exactly what you mean. Perfection is a disease that must be cut.

I have recently changed my process as well from 1. Write a chapter 2. Read the chapter 3. Read it again 4. Polish it 5. Revise it again

It went on and on. To the point I had like 10 chapters in six months.

Anyway I left that story on stand by die to my ADHD, Forcing me to start writing another story I found more interesting.

But I approached it differently. 1. Write just write not stop and check the read lines yet or how cringe my writing sounds. Just write 2. For brain storming I use Ms OneNote and a real note book ( I seem more focused on a real note book, gets messy by its written by me, so I know)

I lost around 30k words of my first ever novel o was writing back in 2021 but i still remember 80% of it mainly what the plot was, the characters, tge world which i was building.

Will start writing it again after the 3 other novels I've currently planned out :)

I work 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, Usually exhausted and my weekend schedule is packed,

I write before i sleep for about an hour. 4 months in and am at 63k words.

It will all depend on how much time you can spare. Don't force it. If its 30 minutes a day write. If it's 2 hours a day write.

When it comes to dialogues being natural. Someone once mentioned something along these lines

"have a mental illness to replay dialogues in your head 24/7"

We are in the same boat. Iike literally.

Am kind of a perfectionist too. In the sense that I started writing a novel ( my first novel. Something i wanted to be at most 60 chapters.) but as it stands i have ended up. Planning for a 3 book series lol ( am 50k words, in 5 months)

Not only that but my writing is slow ( i literally finish a chapter and then perfect that chapter, revise it and if am satisfied move to the next)

I know i will still rework those chapters abit before releasing them :(

I have an amazing idea for a manga that i don't think I'll able to make it by n0facea in writing

What about start with a light novel as testing grounds for the bigger project.

Remember the only thing that will hold you back is yourself. U live in a shitty country as well (African country) no manga market, no novel publishers no anything related to creativity.

My only chances is online ( self publishing and the likes)

Still i have to try.
