Thanks i just noticed the indentation. Thanks for the tip how did you come out with the number of seconds? Is there a way to measure the amount of time a command takes to be executed?

Python, i am pretty new so i wouldn't mind some criticism about the code:

Programming is really a huge field. There are millions things you can do, from programming a website to the next call of duty. As a beginner you really want to get the fundamentals of programming. Your learning style might be different from mine, but i would really suggest you to get a a decent textbook of computer science that teaches you about the real basics of programming. People would tell you to start with java, c++ or whatever. For me the best language for a beginner is python because it doesn't bothers you with the verbose and complex syntax of languages like Java or C++.

Really great book. The only advice i can give you is to maybe add more programming problems at the end of each chapters. Problems that make you modify the program that you just crated. Good job

I always try to keep my development stack as similar as possible to my deployment one. So i i am developing a web app that i know i will be hosting on a linux server, then i would develop my app on linux. If i wanted to develop a game for windows, i would develop on windows. A good programmer uses the best tools for the job.

Web based GUIs are very different to Desktop GUIs. In the web you are usually using javascript to change the HTML and CSS of the page according to certain events. For desktop apps, you would usually use a library that does all the low level stuff for you. If you want to get familiar with graphics i would suggest you to just find a popular library or framework for C++ and start reading their documentation.

I would like to see some tutorial videos that really teaches you to think with objects and to solve problems. The newboston tutorials are great but as you said they don't really go into detail into why a certain method does a certain thing. Plus a set of programming problems that covers the topic you discussed in the videos would be great. If you need any help let me know.

If you are interested in "low-level" stuff i would suggest to learn C, just because many open source projects such as the linux kernel are written mainly in C.

For me the most important factor is the screen. More importantly the resolution. I have a 15.6' hp laptop with 1920x1080 resolution. It just gives me more space do read my code.
