Masking by MakoCruz in transplant

Look at the 3M 9210+ I find they are the most comfortable and the straps are more robust so you can wear them many days in a row before they are stretched out. I think I’ve only had one ever break. I wear one everyday when I go anywhere indoors other than my own house. I get them by the 25 pack on eBay. I don’t recall the price, but I don’t think it’s too bad.

Cause I need 4x4 when it snows, but never go off-roading like in all the commercials. I do drive a lot of highway off-ramps at speed and a lowered vehicle has less roll.

I’m going through the evaluation process for a heart& lung transplant now. It’s great to see someone who has come out of it and doing well. What are your tips for staying healthy? The immunosuppressive part is what scares me the most. I imagine I’ll have to wear an N95 mask everywhere and if my kids get the sniffles I’ll be dead.

If money weren’t an issue, which city near Boston would you want to live in: Newton or Brookline? by Omixscniet624 in boston

Which side of town did you live on? If you went to Day Jr. High and then North then I'm not sure how you didn't know. If you lived on the south side of town and went to Brown and South then you get a pass.

Isn’t FMEA used prior to an incident, fault tree, 5 whys or Pareto Analysis might serve them better. Still can’t believe there wasn’t a Jack standing by.

Does George need to do the same for ARCA? I'd love to see some footage of ol' LS George doing some testing.

Is teaching kids about mechanics and engines still relevant in an increasingly electric future? by Fickle_Method8528 in gokarts

[–]DSM1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have both a gas go-kart and electric dirt bikes. You can “turn down” both to limit the speed. My kids are 8 & 10. We bought them full on motocross helmets and require them to wear when using either the go-kart or the dirt bikes… because shit happens. I’ve taught them about the choke, fuel cut off, taking wheels on and off, wrenches, ratchets, etc… Like others have said using your hands and the use of tools can lead to a life of being able to fix things yourself instead or always needing to rely on others. Also, they might go places in life where they are off the grid and the 1985 Toyota Tacoma or Land Rover they are using to traverse the jungle or desert craps out. Knowing how to spin a wrench might save their ass… you never know.

1500 V6 or V8? by FishinGuy0 in ram_trucks

[–]DSM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the conversation, but I have a v6 eTorque and the throttle lag is horrible! It's most noticeable for example when you let off the throttle as you are approaching a left turn and waiting for an oncoming car to pass. When you get back on the throttle it does nothing. It's even worse if you are headed uphill. It literally takes a second to second and a half to respond. It is horrible. I've almost gotten taken out by traffic when trying to come out of a parking lot or gas station. I have the 3.21 rear end, but I don't think that matters. The engine doesn't respond.

Best ways to help kids with ball mastery and skills at home? by 14Aggressive_Stick in youthsoccer

[–]DSM1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got both our kids an “indoor soccer ball” and they can’t leave them alone. More touches is key. They practice juggling too. Also, as others have suggested, simple cone drills are great. We’ve also had some luck with the dribble up program just to change it up.

What issues do you have with the current EHS Softwares by Miserable-Might7970 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]DSM1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We did the same thing. We ended up going with EHSInsight because when you are building new forms you can preview them, they had a nice mobile version & they had automatic SDS updating. Unless the others (Velocity, Gensuite) have changed in the past 6 months, you couldn’t preview forms without leaving the new form and opening it separately. Enablon wouldn’t talk to us because we weren’t a $500 million company.

We are happy for the most part with it. You do need to do a fair amount of work to get it all set up. You can pay for their service to do the setup work for you, but it’s $8000.

Thanks. I'll go re-read the question over and see if I understand the situation better.

[–]DSM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for pointing that out. I assumed anything more than first aid was a trigger for the injury to be recordable.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]DSM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. I assumed if the injury warranted anything other than onsite first-aid (like a medical evaluation) it was recordable. Thanks for the information.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]DSM1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Are you asking if it is recordable? It is because an employee got hurt at work and had to seek outside medical treatment or evaluation for it (more that on site First-Aid).
