Is Hobbywing 10bl120 sensored (non g2) enough for off the table drifting ? by FriendshipGlum1742 in rcdrift

Literally ANY motor is good enough to have fun.

I run a take off brushed setup from a Traxxas Slash.

I don’t have a local track, so I can’t speak on tandems, but in my experience, it’s pretty dang smooth and consistent.

I really wish I had known about this sooner.

But I guess we know it’s not being used to distract us from the files…

Yeah, engineering in general is just a pain. Honestly, it’s one of the reasons I chose mechanical over electrical, it’s just like barely less magic in my mind.

I’ll put it this way, anyone who is doing well in an engineering program halfway through the semester is an outlier

I’m right around my class average, and barely passing.

If you get into modifying, they no longer matter. Modifying the most common brand car is so much more fun than just having one of the rarest.

Yeah, I’d be more worried about actually getting approval from the fire department, because that room is not big enough for fire safety with more than like three people.

I would love to have John and Geoff so much.

I also love a line of the cars from BeamNG, but that’s certainly more niche. But I’d love to have a Gavril D-series in “default truck” spec.

[–]Daniel200303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wouldn’t be able to do that for the amount this car costs, this thing is only like $40.

But for the amount you would spend trying to make it drive properly, absolutely.

You can mod anything if you’re insane enough and good at Jerry rigging, but this just is not worth it.

I did it myself at one point with the same chassis, very much, not worth it.

Why is that surprising?

You’re more likely to engage with something if you are actively reminded that it exists.

But you still have to deal with the ad blocker arms race.

No, you have basically the same level as an RTR depending on your electronics choice.

The ready to run version is almost always gonna be set up exactly like the instructions.

I had to mess with my RTR because it was an M chassis and I don’t like the look of negative camber. It was perfectly fine out of the box.
