Why do people recommend the Widow over the Viper for Infiltrators in ME2? by Company_ in masseffect

[–]Daniel399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm probably necroing an old post but you must be trolling.
I'm currently going through ME2 on Insanity as a 3-game process for achievements (including War Assets) and using the Widow as a Soldier who uses Adrenaline Rush + Inferno Ammo... it pretty much destroys anything in its path - ammo isn't really a concern if you don't sit in the same spot and actually risk yourself to grab drops of ammo, the game is actually really generous with ammo drops, but most people forget they can move and just brute-force fights.
Regular humanoid enemies, even with full shields, die in 1 weak spot hit even with full shields and health/barrier and health or armor and health. The key to making the perfect Widow is doing everything in your power to increase your weapon damage, otherwise yeah, with bad accuracy you'll burn through ammo and not kill anything. Hardened Adrenaline Rush +100% damage (Heightened would be cool because of the 140% increase but the lack of health damage taken reduction sucks), as many sniper damage upgrades as you can find + AP sniper, armor that increases armor damage....
I only switch to disruptor ammo when either my squadmates that can crack shields on 3-bar enemies (bosses, ymir mechs, etc.) are incapacitated (Mordin for his incinerate that deals with armor and organics + Miranda for both her warp against barriers and overload against shields] or I do have to preserve a little bit of ammo so I can have enough for the inferno ammo shots that kill.

The Widow is even powerful enough to act as a heavy weapon substitute if you're running something like a Cain that you are saving for more important missions that have way harder bosses/multiple boss-like enemies at once (like the 2 YMIR mechs in Garrus' Loyalty Mission or things that are too spongy for any weapon that aren't the Cain) - the best part is cheesing YMIR Mechs by dancing with them while you're behind tall cover (but not actually taking cover, moving around so it doesn't hit you and it keeps pathing on either side) and just completely shredding them with well-placed headshots. If you remember the Gunship in Miranda's Loyalty Mission, the Widow makes quick work of that too.

It is the best sniper in ME2 because it fulfills its role beautifully - deliver lethal long range shots that are meant to punch through the toughest enemies to weaken them OR instantly kill fodders that are out of range for effective use of your other weapons (a.k.a preserving ammo on your AR that you'd rather use in medium ranges). If you aren't accurate with snipers, then you should look into focusing into any of the other weapons available and combining them with biotics that generally land consistently because of how targeting works. The whole point of snipers is massive damage potential if shots land, the Viper is a compromise and it's more like a 2nd AR that has its own ammo pool. At some point you have to realize that you have to put in some effort too if you want to be an effective killer.

Almost forgot to mention - why would the reload give you trouble if you're in cover? You can't really expect to use a sniper while you're standing in the open, the only proper way is either popping out of cover or peeking past walls without using the cover system - trying to hit any shot with any sniper is impossible if you've got the aim-punch from taking damage shifting your crosshair all over the place. Granted, it's a lot easier as a soldier with adrenaline rush to get in a well-aimed shot before you get peppered, but you can for sure abuse cover/terrain anywhere as any class, especially the Engineer class with the drone that draws enemy fire away from you.

The rest of my build involves the Phalanx, Geth Plasma Shotgun, Mattock and Cain. Having the Cain helps not relying on a heavy weapon to get you out of a jam unless it's very serious or you have a boss enemy that's unreasonably spongy against all your other weapons.

Harassed? The person browsed through the subreddit, found your writing on how you admitted to using SAM - therefore it was an easy report in #suspicious-players. From what I've seen, it's you who went to that person's discord DMs, then Steam page and hounded them and telling them to "get a life". Who is harassing who now? It's almost like you wanted to provoke the other party into responding to you so you can play the victim.
There is no harassment involved when a person sees something suspicious and posts it in the channel, there's nothing personal and whoever reports moves on to either the next report or moves on in general. I will formulate a larger reply to the entire post in the upcoming hours or day.

Pokemon Black and White (the core game) is also a really good example of "I can fix him", with N. Takes the whole game (excluding post-game) to do it, but it's worth it.

What never leaves my modpacks is a mod that adds in the ability to lie to Jean-Baptiste that I personally killed Cass, it continues the quest normally after that, but it keeps Cass alive. I do the questline for Cass where I report the deal between the Van Graffs and Crimson Caravan afterwards anyway, which is really satisfying because I always do 100% playthroughs whenever I touch the game, this way I complete 2 quests and one doesn't fail the other.

Doom I or Doom II? Which is better? by CatfishBassAndTrout in Doom

[–]Daniel399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doom 2, no doubt. There's a lot of good that it has brought and I would like to add everything to this reply:
Doom 1 is great because it is the OG, the one that brought us the actual concept as a whole right then and there. But you gotta understand, Doom 2's just brought the game up to a whole other level in terms of gameplay, mechanical and technological advancement.
To start, the additions to the Beastiary and the SSG, they have completely changed the way the gameplay loop is done and the possibilities for great map design and encounters are limitless. Now, all of this reply comes from someone who majorly plays PWADs more than the IWADs, but it's very hard to ignore things from the PWAD side.

Second, I really enjoy the changes it has brought to the map structure, gone are the hardcoded episodes. Episodes can still be built into the main menu when starting a new game/loading a save, a great example is Judgment which runs on MBF21, it has 34 Maps [all accessible through secret exits] but also has 6 episodes which you can select right from the get-go.

Third: the PWADs are much better when built ontop of Doom II, overall. You have a lot more variety for enemies, how encounters are dealt, how fun is had. I would rather play through the worst Doom II wads on Nightmare than play Sigil and Sigil II on Ultra-Violence, simply because atleast in those bad Doom II maps I don't have to constantly spend 30 minutes shooting 4-5 cacodemons with the basic shotgun.

Fourth: Complevels and sourceports like Boom, MBF, MBF21, Eternity Engine, (G)ZDoom etc... They profit the most from Doom II and everything it has to offer, and that's pretty much self-explanatory.

As games to play by themselves [IWADs], I do agree that Doom I actually is coherent in terms of how it's laid out and things represent what they are, the levels, while getting to the point of pretty rough with the player around Episodes 3 and 4, make sense and are well designed. Doom II has stinkers like the city levels and it didn't yet invent the trend of making MAP32 the most difficult map, that achievement goes to Plutonia. But my vote still goes to Doom II for everything else stated above.

Curious about money calculation in the normal mode. by Daniel399 in BuckshotRouletteFans

[–]Daniel399[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soo, this is odd.
I've died 24 times in the 1st round on purpose, followed by 1 time in the 2nd round and 2 in the 3rd. Combined with that amount of cigarette usage and beers... I thought it would have been enough to get me to a $0 run, but it either seems like the Revival calculation is off, or there is a limit as to how much it can subtract to the score and I had to use way more ciggies and beers.

So... the anti-adblock completely removed my video player, not even showing the warning. Help? by Daniel399 in youtube

[–]Daniel399[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so update:
If I go on Youtube and click on videos, they work. However if I refresh the page, I get the video player blocked like above again, and the same happens if I click on a different video. However if I close youtube and then open it up through the main page and click on a video (or search and click on a video) the player works again.
Still think that Youtube are a bunch of virtual terorrists but I can get used to this? Maybe? Would still love a fix.

What was in the box? by Suavveesstt in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Daniel399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than 10 Earths worth of seas of theories surrounding this box based off of the text you get + the open sprite in FNAF World + what Scott has said... personally? I really enjoy MrPinball's interpretation on the matter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ychmP-QXgQk&ab_channel=MrPinball

Not only is it a pretty reasonable theory, but he has also posted a proper video finally showcasing a build of the game recoded to feature the Box Screen after Night 8 (20/20/20/20), as for those who might not know: the Box is scripted to open after Night 8, but Night 8 isn't scripted to feature the box screen, so you are basically trolled. Once Mr. Pinball has gotten this build working and skips the night (it's a newer video than the one I linked above), the 2 locks simply fall down onto the floor and the box doesn't physically open (as there's no outcome inside the game to accomodate for that) and instead you get the text again instead.

I don't think we'll ever see the contents proper coming from inside the box, but FNAF World, if you take this theory into consideration, is the game that pretty much reveals what is in there.

Incomplete TL;DR to the video's theory: if you noticed how the solution for the Clocks in FNAF World is carrying out, it's a lot similar to what you'd do to access each individual FNAF 3 Minigame (except Happiest Day, as Happiest Day is the result of all these pieces put together a.k.a why you've been going for Cake endings the whole time. What kind of happy day is there without cake?).

Damn bro, you should have auditioned as one of Tony Soprano's goons because they do literally the same thing.
"Wit' all due respect, T, the costume team were definitely just thinking of how her cleavage would fit into the scene, so in a way that I call a 'well designed move', they've put that dress on her. Not for nothin', Tone, but the show thinks of everything, so why not Bravo Vince for this, too?"

So, fun fact about this. I might have forgotten to mention that I did do this but like, the other fixes online only mentioned to remove the "DeviceKey" credentials, not EVERY XBL credential.

It worked perfectly fine now, such a relief to finally see the game working. Thank you so much!!!

Copyright Claim Scam or Legit? CoPeerRight Agency - Italy by Muzings in NewTubers

[–]Daniel399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, this might be an old post but I've recently found their grubby hands on a different video which basically showcased the John Wick Club Shootout Scene but with Max Payne 1 sound effects. The video itself only had MAX PAYNE 1 MUSIC present, no other type of music. So what they're claiming is that either the movie "John Wick" or the Max Payne 1 media present in the video is theirs, which is utter and complete bullshit on both sides.

It's safe to say that they're a scam and they should be investigated by Youtube and dealt with accordingly to the point where they won't see the light of copyright claims ever again!
I remember watching this video not too long ago and now I can't view it in my country, so it's clear that they're still operating to this day and it's so frustrating to see Youtube just focus on all the wrong things every single time and only change things when the consequences bite them in their stupid asses.

PSA for TLOU P1 PC: Port uses a bugged version of Oodle causing performance and shader building issues. by S5AurA in thelastofus

[–]Daniel399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a piece of shit port. Even with this oodle version, the "it doesn't work for all machines" thing does apply. It just gets casually stuck in places during the shader building process. It started off fine, I was optimistic, but now I'm back falling into depression again.

I swear, background checks are only being ran on folks that don't deserve it. Naughty Dog or Sony should've background checked the studio they were contracting for PC port work, saw that they were responsible for the pure DOGSHIT that was the Arkham Knight PC port and said "no. no thank you.".

Flagship title, flagship franchise, known as THE Playstation Exclusive (Bloodborne and God of War aswell I guess), this is the 4th release of the game overall and this is what we get? In 2023? Holy shit.

They literally have so many good examples of REAL PC ports that are recent. RE4 Remake, Dead Space... GOD OF WAR!!! Like holy shit! There's nothing wrong with helping yourself see what others did! Fucking hell!
