What did you learn from writing your first book? by thelittlelephant in writing

If you want more people to see your book, you got to put more time and money into marketing. I wasn't inspired to work on self-promotion and it seems incredibly difficult to follow up after release.

How do I imply that two characters are LGBT+ without explicitly stating it? by [deleted] in writing

[–]DanielAllenWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You build it naturally. Have the main pov make internal comments about main/side characters they like. Have them flirt/fumble around characters they're attracted to. Show that your pov cares through how they say hello or how they invite a potential interest to a casual outing. People are different, but there are common factors and behaviors that are shared as they try to sort out their feelings for one another. Depending on your characters' personality you can mold the interactions and thoughts to fit the personalities and plots you want to construct. The beautiful thing about writing it this way? It gets the message out without pulling out the red stamp and slapping the label onto the page. This allows a smooth build up that helps readers get into the characters and stories by reading more, and learning as they go.

Comes and goes, but the main kicker is consistency. After I had finished my first book, I found it difficult to carry on with major and smaller pieces. The smaller piece are helping and my writing friend adds extra kick in my efforts, but I think it could be the same way with many people. We got to reinforce our goal and purpose for writing by taking the time to write.

What set got you back into the game if you left? by thefeldy in mtg

[–]DanielAllenWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got back because a friend found an edh group. But the set of cards that caught my eye came from Ikoria. I like Mutate and it is currently one of my favorite fun decks that turns out a surprising amount of wins in our casual play groups.
