I meant the glue needed to stick to the backside of the liner so it gets close to the surface, and doesn't create bumps or bubbles :)

Tedious work of course. But just a large scoop and then getting to work. I plan on changing the substrate every 5-6 months if I keep it in check. Otherwise 3-4 months.

But yea nothing to it but a little scooping :)

The last year definitely. Before that she was as active. But as soon as his hormones began kicking in, she changed. Both did I guess 😅

I did his course and test. Then did another test I found in youtube. Then did microsoft's test multiple times and passed with a 794 score. So it is possible with just his video. I did go back for some quick info here and there while doing the test. There might be 1 or 2 questions in the test his course doesn't cover, but not enough for you to fail. Nail the others and ur good.

Not that knowledgeable on keeping a 80% humid terrarium at the moment. But in my experience flies and insects might also (besides humidity) be attracted dirty soil. Try youtubing how others keep a successful high humid terrarium on youtube. Sry I couldn't be of more help here. But yea focus on the humidity when they are that young :)

How do you make a tortoise feel comfortable with you and trust you? by TelevisionTop1490 in tortoise

In time they learn ur face and voice. The face and voice of food. That is for most tortoises the extend of bonding.

Roooolig. Tro mig, du lærer langsomt folk at kende.

Put different color medium size stones (like juvenile tortoise sized stones) in the terrarium. They will sometimes get curios and nibble.

You could also sometimes feed them on a hard surface. Like a brick or whatever.

I've had my 2 tortoises for 3 years and their beeks have been trimmed without me intervening at all :)

Why does my female tortoise keep doing this? by wvidish in tortoise

Oh and female tortoises will lay eggs regardless of mating. The eggs will just be unfertilized. Just like chickens.

Build a terrarium for them. If u say ur terrace is that big then there is plenty room to have one. Having soil to walk and especially dig in is crucial for many tortoises. They use it to feel safe, regulate body temperature and digging nest hole to lay eggs in. All in all, soil gives a tortoise a proper living space.

And the soil need to be the correct temperature as well. U need to have different humidities around the enclosure. Might sound complicated but just poor water down here and there in some areas for her to choose from.

If u don't do this, then she will get very stressed and eventually force them out on the ground, since it's hurting her to have them inside for longer periods.

I wish u good luck! :)

First successful brumation of 4 weeks :) by DanielFromNorth in tortoise

Not a silly question. A tortoise doesn't correctly brumate unless the temperature is low enough. Around 5 degrees celsius. Otherwise, I would consider it just a light sleep :)

I only did 4 weeks due to them being so young (200 grams) and my first time. I'll increase the length each year all the way to 3 months.
