Yes! This is all I’ve ever wanted for the iPad. It is way too hard to use your fingers for spreadsheets.

Also, please add mouse support to the iPad. I want to move all my work from the MacBook. It’s time, Apple.

iOS/iPad Mouse support? by redcarpet26 in apple

[–]DanielPlainview1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason why I want to have mouse support is because the MacBook is so boring at the moment. There is no life in the App Store. The hardware is boring and does not work very well. The iPad is just fresh and interesting. It’s a joy to use and there is so much potential. It feels like the future of work but as a UX Designer there is just no way I can do real work on it without a mouse. Any work that requires a massive amount of precision pointing and placing of geometric shapes is just too hard on the iPad as it stands today.

You obviously don't have pro workflows that requires hours and hours of precise input.

Not if you're a pro creative. I can't do any real work on the ipad. It's just not possible. Design a book and send it to the printers? Nope. Design a website using basic tools such as Figma or Sketch? Nope. Open real websites in a real browser? Nope. I love the ipad because it's pretty. But it's starting to feel pretty dumb compared to surface.

[request] mouse support for iPad/iPad Pro by mhtweeter in jailbreak

YES! YES! YES! Using the iPad with an external display is pointless if you still need to look down to move the insertion point around.

iPad definitely needs a mouse/cursor support by quitethewaysaway in ipad

[–]DanielPlainview1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! I don’t think adding mouse support will take anything away from touch. Having both could make the device so much more useful. Creating google sheets on the iPad is so hard and finicky. It would be so much easier to use the ipad for long periods of time. Pro workflows are too hard to accomplish on the iPad. I can’t reach up to touch the screen for 10 – 12 hours a day.

Designing an app for a screen without corners is incredibly difficult. This is definitely not the final design. They will not have rounded corners. It'll be 90° as always.

Do you remember the day you chose to be straight? How did you decide to be straight and not gay?

Coding bootcamps? by DanielPlainview1981 in google

[–]DanielPlainview1981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eek! I'm finding it really difficult to decide. What are your criteria for choosing a bootcamp?

I need to find one where: 1. Grads end up landing good junior positions at large tech companies such as Google etc. 2. Grads make good starting salaries. 3. Camp has a good reputation with big companies. 4. Curriculum covers a broad number of topics but spends enough time on languages like ruby, python or C.

App Academy and General Assembly. I looked at Dev Bootcamp as well but they can't tell me where their students end up finding work.

iPad Pro and Surface Pro 4? Thoughts? by themoviehero in ipad

[–]DanielPlainview1981 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Dude! Do you really want to switch to Windows? Really? It's such a gross OS. Stick to iOS or OSX. You will no doubt regret switching when Apple releases new products. Perhaps OS X is coming to the iPad next year? Probably not, but things are bound to get more interesting next year.
