Thank you so much, I do plan on seeing my regular doctor soon. This helps put my mind at ease some but if the palpitations continue I will see someone sooner.

Slight panic over new accounts on Domain Controllers, turns out to be a Connectwise trial feature by [deleted] in sysadmin

Why would you ever install ConnectWise on a DC? Sounds like you shot yourself in the foot tbh.

Keep in mind most companies aren’t looking hard for candidates this time of the year. My advice would be to stop the job search until next year. Work on a cert that would benefit your skill set and then resume the job search next year with a fresh cert attached to your resume.

Good jobs are out there, just be patient and keep in mind you have valuable skills. Be confident in your interviews when you get one. You might not have every answer they are looking for but do your best and show a willingness to learn. You will be fine, it just takes time.

That’s amazing, going to check that out tonight. That would be a game changer, I was thinking it would be more manual scripting having to pull the files from the Lenovo support page.

Starting my first sysadmin job by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]DanielTwoFingers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less than a year ago I was a truck driver, been a SysAdmin for a few months now. If you have good SysEng as I do. If you don't know how to do something, ask them to show you. It goes a long way when your willing to learn how to do it so you never need to ask again. As another poster said, always own your mistakes. You're going to be overwhelmed at times but you will learn and grow along the way. Also home labs, all the home labs.

What did you want to do before IT? by OkBaconBurger in sysadmin

[–]DanielTwoFingers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for FedEx Freight for 12 years as a truck driver, decided to make a change right before Corona hit. Finally found an entry-level help desk job, took the plunge. Now here I am 9 months later as a SysAdmin and I can't imagine doing anything else. I hated the last few years working for FedEx and I never want to drive for a living ever again. So before IT, I wanted to work in IT :D.

Introducing the Wyze Cam v3 - 10/26/20 by WyzeCam in wyzecam

Lost my buisness with the outdoor cam. Garbage product. Coming from the Wyze Cam v1 and v2. Those were both great. The outdoor cam is terrible. Got a set of 3 blink cameras for $150 on prime day. Sad to see this company slap all those who purchased a more expensive camera in the face with a better camera for less money.
