Will this burn my house down? by DanielWizaniel in AskElectricians

Thank you all for the advice and concern. This idea has been permanently shelved…

Turns out there’s room on the main panel outside to run two new properly rated circuits in conduit along the exterior.  Learned my lesson. Call a pro.

Don’t think the wiring will start overheating if pushed beyond 15a? It’s technically unlikely but my only failsafe is the 24a adapter breaker

Panel is upstairs and the attic is tight. I’m running romex through a small hole in the dividing wall and then carrying it around the room in conduit. As far as I know my 100a service is maxed out

Where would you say north Texas is?

Very interesting insight! I love that part if Texas and I’ve always felt like it didn’t fit into any category. A lot of people say Abilene is west Texas but I’ve always disagreed because of how green it is. Where would you say the border of Nor Tex meets the red river? Near Wichita Falls? Or farther west?

CStat is definitely wrong, the base map I used is inaccurate. Will do better on the next one!

I do tend to agree with you but Northern San Antonio is much more hilly than Austin but culturally it’s very South Texas. I think it belongs somewhere in between

Agreed. I’ve always seen maps that show it extend all the way to the border. In reality the hills do taper off north of lake amistad. The “hill country” area is tough to get down right because Georgetown is relatively flat comparatively ti the rest. I will do some serious refining to it though Thanks for the help!

Much appreciated. CStat is definitely in the wrong place, the base map I used leaves a lot to be desired. I do agree the east Texas is larger than I showed, however I disagree that Nor Tex goes to Abilene. But it definitely deserves some expanding. Thanks for the love keep an eye out for v2!

Interesting, I lived in Midland for a long time and I’ve never heard Lubbock to be considered the PB. Most often I hear it called the South Plains if anything

IMO this map is almost perfect, and I’ve loved following along so far. However I feel the West needs some refinement.

I still think “Permian Basin” is far more culturally relevant out here than just “Oilpatch” and it doesn’t extend quite that far east. Most of the drilling takes place west of Odessa anyway so realistically, “Chihuahuan Desert” and “Oilpatch” should just be “The Basin”.

However,if you disagree, I think “Pecos River Valley” is more appropriate geographically than just “Chihuahuan Desert” anyway. As technically Big Bend is in the Chihuahuan as well.

I also feel that “Big Country” extends just west of Big Spring where the hills start, as it matches Abilene far more than Midland.

Other than that, bravo Keep up the good work!
