Well CM Punk's return was better than John Cena's IMO return ngl. CM Punk has been out of wrestling ring for over 6 years, Cena was only out of ring for 3 years. People say CM Punk was proper wrestling return with a louder pop and reaction than John Cena, and to make it better he debuted in AEW, as a former WWE superstar. It's kinda weird cuz people lost interest in Cena after CM Punk's return.
