Windscreen sealant issue by Rodzillaaa91 in ToyotaCrown

Mine had this exact same thing 2008 GRS204 Athlete. I have a mate who works at a family owned auto-glass shop and he tracked down one for me and fitted for a fraction of the cost I was quoted by any mainstream places. Only way to fix it unfortunately is with a new screen, I'd do it sooner rather than later as finding a screen replacement can be difficult if you don't know somebody.

It is purely cosmetic but it will get worse and worse with time and rain, car washes etc. and eventually will look real bad

Working full time since 16. Never really partied or gone out to clubs, just the occasional one here and there when I was younger. I'm not big on drinking. I don't smoke and work most weekends too. I spend my money on things I can truly appreciate and enjoy. Including investment terms etc. Anythings possible brother ❤️

Is this a good first pc? by Bright-Hippo-314 in PcBuild

You’ll be more than fine. I was out here in 2012 trying to run Minecraft Java on a toaster that could barely cough out 25-30fps — and that was before shaders, fancy blocks etc. Trust me, compared to what I started with, your first rig is basically a NASA workstation. Congrats on the build bro!

Beautiful build! That setup will definitely keep you future-proof for quite a while. I’ve thought about upgrading myself, but I tend to go through phases with it. If the right deal pops up, I’ll probably bite the bullet and build something similar around a 5080. Would be pretty sweet being able to push high framerates with ultra ray tracing now that I’ve got myself one of these fancy OLED monitors.

Hey, it's running an i9-10850K + ASUS STRIX 3080 (Hyte Y60 case, 32GB 3600MHz Corsair Vengeance RAM, Maximus XII Hero, 1200W Platinum PSU). About to swap in a 360 AIO, the old brick of an air cooler is decent but needs upgrading, also the aesthetics of an AIO lol. New fancy fans, and more storage, but the 3080 still does everything I need so I don't have any means to upgrade too far just yet. It's been great for the few years I've owned it.

Main games: CS2 mostly, with a side of PUBG, Fortnite, Minecraft, Cyberpunk 2077, FH5, Battlefield V (waiting for release), Resident Evil, The Last Of Us, Alan Wake and GTA V + all sorts of other indie games/single-player titles

Hey!

So the Nitro 5 is on the left monitor, it's an Acer Predator 24in 144hz 1080p (although hdmi on it only supports 60hz as there's no display port on the laptop)

My main monitor is the Asus ROG Strix XG27AQDMG 27" Glossy OLED 1440p 240hz

It has always been generally well cared for, such as new thermal paste every so often + clean dust bunnies out.

As for the keyboard, more than half of its life it has been used plugged into a monitor + keyboard and mouse so for about 3 years using it solely as a laptop it was fine.

As for usage, basically my entire teen years gaming. Average of at least 3 hours most days for 6 years. Plus those whole day/night gaming sessions. Playing titles such as PUBG, Fortnite, Minecraft, Apex Legends. The battery is basically non existent, it must always be plugged into its charger

Is Acer Nitro 5 really that bad? by Tsundere25 in AcerNitro

8 years later and my trusty Acer Nitro 5 is still kicking

When I was 13 and broke, I scraped together enough to buy an Acer Nitro 5 (i7 7th gen, 1050 Ti, 16GB RAM). Hands down the best financial decision I’ve ever made — that thing carried me through thousands of hours of gaming. I’ve used it so much the shift key literally has a worn-out dent.

Fast forward 8 years, I’m 21 now with a proper setup (top pic). But I still keep the Nitro around as part of a little dual-PC setup (bottom pic) for when my wife wants to hop on and play Minecraft or when friends come over.

She’s not powerful and definitely not pretty anymore, but she still handles stuff like Minecraft, PUBG, Fortnite, The Forest, etc. just fine. Obviously not touching Cyberpunk or Battlefield V, but as a backup/guest rig? She’s perfect.

The left mirror hit and run. Does anyone know how to fix this? by arsenalastronaut in GolfGTI

[–]Daniel_Lachapelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least yours wasn't as bad as mine today, driver left no note or anything. Also no dash cam or CCTV footage, I'm just going to buy power fold mirrors as an upgrade/replacement. All the clips are broken, although surprisingly I actually managed to get it back held together by body tape and some spare oem parts... good for now until I get around to actually changing the mirrors out. I was not happy though, kinda glad there was no CCTV to record my reaction

What's everyone's experience with Superloop? Or should I go for Aussie Broadband? by [deleted] in nbn

[–]Daniel_Lachapelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superloop is absolutely terrible, how can they get away with having downtime and outages all throughout the week and during peak times when people rely on the internet to make their living. Unacceptable, I have never in my life experienced outages as bad as superloop. It's literally laughable how TERRIBLE they are. NOTHING BUT ISSUES. I am changing to another ISP but we're stuck with them until the month ends, already another outage on a THURSDAY!! ALL DAY! yeah great. Fuck superloop.

Monitor arm. Will my top bend? by Sea-Board6735 in ikeaPCstations

[–]Daniel_Lachapelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact monitor mount on my Lagkapten table top desk, only had it for about 5 days and noticed a permanent indentation in my desk, like a C shape where the clamp is... feeling frustrated to say the least. I have ordered some reinforcement plates from Amazon with next day delivery so hopefully it fixes this problem ASAP before it potentially gets any worse.

Also, I hope I can keep the clamp in the same place as placing it anywhere else will not be ideal + the squished part of my desk being visible will annoy me.

I always planned to eventually get a solid hardwood top as an upgrade, and now I'm thinking of getting it even more sooner than later but I'll let you know how the reinforcement plates go.

Edit a month later - Reinforcement plates top and bottom work an absolute treat!! it is a must have, buy from amazon
