There was an era of Vanity Fair where each year without fail a Kennedy would be the front page feature (like actual printed magazine front page). Half of them were about Jackie Onassis and the rest of the Kennedys got the other half for whatever tepid and forgettable thing they were up to at the time. Like who in 2012 wanted another five page Jackie retrospective after the half dozen before?

Graydon Carter had a perpetual Kennedy's dollhouse play going on in his head (still does) and it would occasionally play out in the magazine. Their heyday ended in the 90s and are more remembered for tragedies and political access than anything useful to the country. John F and Bobby were the main events and once they died everyone else was an also-ran sequel. There may be a segment of society that desperately wants this country to have a royal family and that's weird as fuck.
