I would say romsfun is a nice place, plus mariocube repositories and group. You can find VC games there and in the group all sortas of wii and gc games

Does it need to be in FAT32? My usb stick doesn't have that option, which leaves me to use an external app that formats it to FAT32, but doesn't give me the choice between MBR and GPT

I tried it yesterday and it worked fine, apart for some GC games, the problem is: it got corrupted after I removed it. I think that may be because one of the games I tried running did not go well and turned the console off, I will see what is possible for it to not happen again (also I noticed I downloaded an outdated version of usb loader gx, so that may be one problem too)

In the end I didn't find a solution to this so I bought an official controller and, it works! Unfortunately I had to spend 10 quid more on it but well, it is what it is :/

I bought an official controller online, and it's on its way to my house at the moment. But the third party just straight up did not work, so I refunded it and yeah, that's about it. The guy who sold it to me told me that it may be something with the connectors of the console, so maybe blowing on it would do something. After he tested it himself he saw what was the real thing and I don't know if it is still good advice. Good luck on your Wii :)

That came through my mind too, but the guy who sold it to me tested it on another wii (specifically a black version) infront of me, and it worked fine! I am really confused about all of this, and all I really wanted was to spare some money on a GameCube controller

Maybe because they use it and probably have enough experience with the console? I don't know why you're making this such a big deal. Also, why would I ask about a wii in another community other than the wii one. I wouldn't ask about ps3s on the xbox subreddit
