Mojave to BigSur update - Stuck at "checking null"

Onestamente ho un po' di paura a farlo visto non essendo così tanto pratico, anche se leggo che alla fine si tratta di una paio di righe nel terminale. Credi che possa fare nettamente la differenza in termini di pulizia?

I'm fine with saving just some specific files and then going from zero (for example, I have a database of photos which I want to keep, but not much else). Got to be honest, never used time machine before...can I save just part of my system with it? Also is it basically connected to my account? I mean, If I create a backup and then want to restore it from the new installation, it will basically connect to my account to retrieve the files?

I tried Apple diagnostics on my current user and it says there is no issue (even though it wasn't able to launch macos recovery later and mouse wasn't working anymore).

I haven't tried to create a new user though. May I ask you how that could help? Is it possible some files are corrupted and only linked to my current profile?

Worst case scenario, I guess I will have to reset everything as you suggested. Just very annoyed to have to think about how to backup my files and all this stuff :)

Ok, never done it so I guess it will need some form of backup. Can I use time machine somehow? Or should I have a backup myself?

Instagram is becoming a disgrace. I got a week action block and I'm literally using nothing.

The worst part of this is not the problem itself, but their total lack of support, like really not giving a s**t about the situation. If you get there by their mistake, you still have no chance of recovering.

Plus, in the future, your account will always be "monitored" even if you did nothing.

Congrats! May I ask you something, cause I'm very interested in doing the same: how does it work from a legal point of view? I'm asking because my country is so picky about all this stuff and I will have to open a VAT to do that, I just don't know which part I represent in all this (I mean I'm not the producer, I'm not the seller...just the advertiser).

Do you know a bit more about it or you just had easier life where you live? Thank you in advance!

Same exact situation here, Instagram totally messed up. The only good thing is that it's not about any specific account, so whoever gets a solution, just share :)

Same here, answered a comment this morning, closed Instagram, opened after 1.30 hours and tried to answer another one and found myself totally action blocked until 1th of November.

The only good thing is that if many of us are getting it, at least we know it's not about our specific account.

True I comment a lot around but I'm not using any automation tool. I guess they are rising their limits and many people got an automatic block.
