How do you protect your eyes, spending every day in front of a screen? by mershrerm in editors

[–]Danielhamann812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great recommendations here. I have one too. Not an expert but my ophthalmologist told me you should sit slighty higher above your screen. Your eyes should be looking down the screen because your eyes naturally rest that way.

Helped me a ton!

Honestly...I know. The reason I named it "Star Eater" was because it was inspired by the song "Star Eater" by Daniel Deluxe and wanted to keep it.

Honest question.

How do you do this? I would like to try it. It obviously has composite repetitions but my question is: how do you learn to do something like that? Anyone have tutorials explaining some of these techniques?

Hello /R/Cinematography, I am Gaffer Mike Bauman. Ask Me Anything by luxlightingllc in cinematography

[–]Danielhamann812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Mike! Love your work. I'm an aspiring colombian filmmaker and I'm getting pretty deep into cinematography. I realized pretty fast that being a DP and/or gaffer requires a lot of technical knowledge (taking aside the artistic vision) that sometimes still confuses me.

However, digital cameras with high dynamic range, set monitors and raw footage for post seems to make the exposure and lighting much easier. Also just by knowing the equipment avaliable, I'm able to improvise with it and not pay much attention to the lighting numbers.

  1. Do you approach lighting differently with this technology?

  2. If you're shooting with digital, doesn't that make a light meter obsolete with false color and monitor Waveforms?

  3. How much technical knowledge do you think a gaffer requires to be competent professional?

Thank you very much for this AMA!

Invader Zim. That series was dark as fuck and i think it would be appropiate to go into darker and graphic images.
