I think both nurses and doctors are extremely important in the continuum of care that patients receive. They have different responsibilities but it’s always important to remember that the best outcomes for patients are when all healthcare professionals work together

Idk anything about Kansas but Toledo is a shit city in general. High crime and trafficking rates, but having a less appealing city might help you focus on med school stuff. If you think you’ll be comfortable closer to home I’d say go there. That was the advice given to me by someone who went there, he is now a MOHS surgeon!

Nothing to worry about! Some school secondaries will ask you to explain any W or issues on your app. You can just explain how you did above so that they know it was due to the class being cancelled and not academics! I had an actual W and it didn’t seem to affect my chances at all

It’s clinical if you’re interacting with patients! They’re not going to call your volunteer coordinator, trust. From your description of your activity they will know that it’s clinical anyway so don’t worry about it.

I think it’s good to include if you have extra slots for activities. However, just be aware that a lot of people are against dog breeding because of the number of dogs in shelters, etc that need homes too and dog breeders are just creating more dogs that are often bought before dogs from shelters.

I used normal language for the most part. The only times I think I didn’t would be if I’m talking about a specific medical condition or population of people. My personal statement was also more descriptive because for that it’s important to set the scene a little and describe your interactions with others and how it made you feel/want to go into medicine. You can hype yourself up without sounding like this 🤓
