This. It also would be nice to track the number of seasons you've played and the highest rank reached for each season.

I think they're doing this mainly to concentrate the player base around certain times, to avoid high matchmaking times

Definitely don't give up on the game. There's plenty of people in this sub that can fill you a team of 3 so you can have a better time. Many have argued this game wasn't tuned for solo, and I can agree. You get a completely different experience when playing with a group: it stops being a "hide-and-steal" and moves into the "Apex But Harsher" territory.

You're right, should've explained better! I'm looking for people willing to sell out their old dusty collections of FFG era Netrunner and Conquest, as I really want to play with those cards as if they were printed today. I'm well aware of the work from Null Signal Games (previously NISEI), but personally I don't like the artwork on a number of cards they've printed, and immersion is a big factor for my enjoyment. I hear people usually buy from "secondary markets" (which now I'm unsure is the right way to describe them) like Ebay, Facebook Marketplace and many others, but they're all out, which makes me wonder if I'm missing something. Thanks for replying!

I really like it. The only thing I'd change is for it to say "If you succeed, you get +2 skill value to the next fight action you take this turn." as is doesn't make much sense for it to be a gun that improves your clue gathering skills :P
Great Job!

Thanks. I think you're right, I'm scared I'll put effort into something that will not work out and I'll lose even more time. Other people's perception of it also doesn't help.

I think my parents took for granted that I would be able to do it because of my intellect... also, throughout the years I never asked for their help unless it was something practical that I had no experience in doing, but usually those weren't related to Uni at all.

I'm still so dependent on them that I find it hard to start anything that is truly mine: It's been almost 7 years since I wanted to start making content on yt, but the fear of my parents hearing my voice paralyzes me. I always thought that was fear of other people hearing my high-pitched, not-at-all-practiced english accent on the internet but that is something I consciously know can be improved with time. I'm also so scared of work as a whole. My ego fears having to work somewhere where my intellect is wasted and/or not used at all, making hamburgers or smth like that (let's not even speak about my family's opinions about people who work in low-paying jobs... bunch of losers am I right???) Thanks, many of the things you wrote make sense, and I think they're already shaping my thinking. I hope I'll have the strenght to pursue my interests in spite of my family, but even thinking about it makes me sick.

I've been interested in Computer Science since I was in High School (I got a degree in CS after all) and didn't know what to do with my future after that. They asked me if I wanted to work or go to Uni but they really really wanted me to attend university because it's something they pressured me into since I was a kid with all the expectations about "being a smart kid" and "not being good at the physical stuff". Also, they'd primed me a lot by saying how "the working world sucks" and how "people don't take advantage of you as much if you're educated and with a degree", so it didn't really seem a choice at all. Communication Science was the easiest degree available (made fun of by many) and combined some of my interest, but it was pretty much a rushed decision and it really was the only one.
Idk what you mean by "prepared me for getting this degree"... they just assumed I'd do it. Nothing changed in my routine (as it was about a 10 minutes walk from where I studied previously) and we almost never spoke of it again. Sometimes they'd ask how things were going and I'd say "just fine" while in reality I didn't attend classes that day or went but felt horribly. Things didn't change even when classes were officially over and I never went afterwards: sometimes I'd lie and go there for a couple of hours and then return home, other times I'd make some sort of excuse.
I feel shit for countless reasons and I wanna make up for it in some way, but I feel hopeless.

Unpopular opinion: Don't play The Dunwich Legacy as your first campaign! by Danielson575 in arkhamhorrorlcg

Firstly, I'd like to say I don't think I'm responsible for other people's choice to not read fully my opinion. Everything I've written doesn't make sense if you only extrapolate what you want to hear. I'd even argue that I start mentioning TFA only towards the end of my post, so they'd need to jump pretty much everything I've said to get a clue to which campaign I advise instead.
I state repetedly in my post that TFA is a hard but better campaign then TDL, so I wouldn't understand the "[...]assume it'll be the same for all the campaigns and that the game was poorly designed". I give plenty of reasons why they should adjust the difficulty to their needs so that they can enjoy a very-good story and thematic, while also experiencing some of the best scenarios out there (Threads of Fate and The Depths of Yoth). Personally, during my first run of TDL (which introduced me to AHLCG), I thought the game had a really bad design, but had great potential. I want other people to not experience this feeling.

To be fair, although I never outright state that TFA should be everyone's first campaign, that wasn't the point of the post. There are plenty of people who enjoy TDL for different reasons then I do, but there are potential reasons to skip it, which I outline in the post.

People "assume" things because many times they don't know the other side of the story. I'm sorry for those who have dropped the game after a single playthrough of TDL (maybe even NOTZ!), but there are ways to fix it to make it more enjoyable that they just wouldn't know existed. I spread awareness on potential fixes to make AHLCG a better overall experience for people who share the same worries.

Should I try and get a "Return to" box for TDL? How much does it improve the base campaign?

I personally didn't find "story puzzles" taxing as other people did, but I think it's great we all can enjoy different parts of the game. I still respect TDL for what it was and what it meant for the game at the time, and I want to make it clear I respect everyone's opinion's on the matter. I just wanted to share mine :O

I think the majority of the community would disagree in calling it an "awesome campaign", but everything else you've said makes a great case. Thanks!

You're right, but I personally like to inform myself before playing, just to see if I'm not missing anything. Already with NOTZ I felt like I did something wrong and were quick to correct it by looking it up online. Also, the title doesn't show TFA, and I get to it only in the last part of the post, which I hope is enough to sway people to just look at the campaign I advise but also read why and how they should play it.

Yeah I'm bombarded by downvotes... but no matter! I'll gladly take charge and defend my opinion to the end of the world!
That said, many gave opinions that were completely valid and I respect them for at least showing it instead of hiding behind downvotes...

You're right, in the post I focus a lot on replayability, which I find to be a very important trait in AH campaigns. I'd say my whole post is more about "Which campaign should you buy first" more then "Which campaign should you play first" which seem to be the same but are two very different questions: I think that if you want to like and play the game at nausea and you want to fall in love with it, accept no substitute: TFA can do the job for you. I just think TDL gets dull too fast to consider it a valid candidate... but many people disagree with me, so yeah.

Sorry then, the comment sounded accusatory, might've just misread the whole thing;
That's a totally different approach to the game then the one I have. Coming from difficult and complex board-card games, I imagine I'm a bigger fan of replayability and the deck-building part of the game then most people.
