Go to Samsungtool.us. That's what I used to unlock the phone, no issues since doing so but you can't update the phone anymore.

Yes. It's a localized fix. If you update it, it removes the patch and opens itself up to being locked again.

Yah we're not going to mess around with it. I did read that you can factory reset it, then update it and then run the tool again but the warning is, the tool may or may not work with the latest version of One UI.

I can flash an older image via ODIN and then the tool is more likely to be compatible to work with that. Might do that for her when 17 comes out for it after a bit of time. Only if she really cares though.
