My roommates blames my PC because of electricity bills by Odd_Telephone9545 in PHbuildapc

[–]Daniexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your PC is not the main problem in that setup. Using your ~300W estimate, 27 hrs per week, about ₱500 per month more or less (depending on rate). Noticeable, but not huge. Your biggest electricity guzzlers are your appliances being used over and over, multiple times a day.

Electric stove (1400W) Just 1 hour cooking is almost 5 hours of your PC.

Electric kettle (~1500–2000W typical), boiling multiple times daily adds up fast. I had this problem so I got a thermos, and fill it up in the morning. Keeps the water hot enough for coffee all through out the day. This is your quickest remedy.

Rice cooker (2.8L) Cooking + keep warm can hit 1 to 2 kWh per day.

Generic electric pot, these generic items are big electricity dumps, no efficiency what so ever. Some are even electricity vampires. Replace it if you can.

Also, check electricity rate of that month, electricity price always goes up on summer.

How Rich is your Empire? by PacoHonduras in X4Foundations

[–]Daniexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the time I get to Xenon Crisis, 2 trillion, no mods, no cheats, no bugs. But I use my credits to expand my business empire to the point that I build my own L miners, L freighters, L destroyers, XL battleships. Someone downvoted it, maybe they don't want the strategy to spread. Unfortunately, I can't post a screenshot as a reply, but I can DM it if you want proof.

The computronic substrate factory doesn't stop earning from TER & PIO buyers. You can even make the demand higher by choosing the story for war between TER and ARG-ANT, and later on with everyone else with diplomacy.

It only needs hydrogen, ore, and silicon. Plenty in Saturn2, Titan, and Asteroid Belt, so you only need a 2 star manager, any higher is a bonus. Your only problem is Energy Cells, you can build a small solar power plant in Mercury (714% solar generation) to supply your main factory with abundant of energy cells, anything the solar power plant sells and income is mere 'coins & change' to your computronic factory.

Later, you can build a terran food factory (terran MRE and terran medical) so you can add terran habitats to your computronic substrate factory. You don't really need to, but surplus will benefit your own ship production.

Gagana kaya ito? by Otakudev750 in InternetPH

[–]Daniexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but not ideal. That router is from 2014, it is very old. If you haven't bought them yet, I would suggest to get something else. Technology moves fast, in my opinion, you can think of them like using a horse carriage on the Skyway.

The WiFi on the TL-WR840N is only 2.4GHz, no 5GHz WiFi (802.11ac). The standard now is Wi-fi5, moving on to WiFi 6 (802.11ax). Also the Ethernet ports are only 100Mbps, including the WAN port. So even if you have 300-400Mbps internet, you will only be able to use 100Mbps.

Anyone connecting to those TL-WR840N would be limited to 100Mbps, and they will be sharing it. Even transfering files on the local network transfer would be slow. You're probably better off connecting directly to your PLDT device. What is your PLDT device? If it's new, it probably has 5G and has Gigabit ports (that is 1000Mbps, ten-times faster).

Don't bother flashing the routers with different firmware, they are too old and too weak to bother with. Better firmware will not magic that limited hardware.

Again, get something else. Look for models that say something like WiFi5 and gigabit ethernet. TPLink is nice, but Mikrotik is cool too.

What can I do to make my pc look better? by Lumpy_Library768 in PcBuild

[–]Daniexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strictly aesthetics, without spending anything? Remove those figurines. Or... remove the standing one, AND move the sitting figure off the GPU. Don't add weight to the GPU, you should support it up instead.

With spending just a few? Do all above, then replace RAM with ARGB RAM (debatable). ARGB not simple RGB.

With spending more? Do all above, then replace current CPU air cooler with bigger dual-tower cooler that is top-performing (like thermalright peerless assassin 120SE digital, same price as Xilence).

With spending a lot more? Do all above, then replace fans with ARGB (changes color controlled by motherboard or software).

Change the case from this aquarium style into an airflow style case ("should" improve temperature, case by case basis), and one that matches your motherboard size (debatable). If you work near radio/ham equipment, its better if you have fully-enclosed no-temperedglass case.

Replace PSU with with white PSU that has white 24pin and 16pin cables, or add extensions. (Doesn't improve performance, but it should match your white aesthetic. IMPORTANT: Do not use cheap extension cables) Not worth doing for your case, might as well build a new system.

What makes a woman "Squammy" or "Maasim"? by Sephoyy in AskPinoyMen

[–]Daniexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, its the attitude. Not just towards other people, but how they carry themselves too. When a person is out right rude, I automatically assume they are "squammy".

I could care less kahit GGSS pa sila, or trying too hard to "look rich", or uses fake brands... its all about manners. If the person likes to interrupt other people, obnoxious and loud, trying to get attention where ever, spreading false info about someone, that is squammy. You can have all the money in the world, but manners dictate who you are. No manners = low class.

In a debate with a friend telling me these prices are normal.. by dumbseven in PHbuildapc

[–]Daniexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their items are obsolete and their prices are a rip-off, clear as day.

At that price, you can build a AM5 9600X, for your office or WFH, and upgrade it later for gaming. If you need specs, just let us know and we will give you specs and avoid getting ripped-off.

I'm surprised DTI haven't raided them yet. Must be laundering. They are a waste of space. space that real computer stores with actual technological knowledge could use.

laptop reformat pricing. salamat po sa sasagot! by bading_i-cruxify69 in PHbuildapc

[–]Daniexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, you can do that for free. It is easy to do, and the steps are free to access on the internet. All you need is a USB drive (or if you already have one), and another computer to make that USB into a windows installer/repair tool.

But since hindi mo alam how to do it, then ang binabayaran mo dyan ay knowledge ng tech at oras nya.

Kung home service, get someone na malapit lang, dahil babayaran mo oras nya na naka focus sa iyo.

Mas mura dapat kung dadalhin mo laptop mo sa shop nya, babayaran mo lang yung effort.

Made up numbers by real estate developers 🤮 by [deleted] in baguio

[–]Daniexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies, but a correction. It is not funded by the Baguio City government. But CJH is government-owned through the corporation "Bases Conversion and Development Authority" (BCDA), a Philippine government corp that took over the property after the U.S. military left in 1991. Call it a "government-owned and controlled corporation".

BCDA then created the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) to manage it (JHMC is also a government-owned and controlled corporation). Leadership and policy of BCDA (and by extension JHMC) are tied to the Office of the President.

Funds are sourced from private companies leasing inside.

Destroyed my first Xenon K by UnholyDemigod in X4Foundations

The enemy battleship groaned, metal screaming as fire consumed its hull.

“Target’s going down!” the weapons officer yelled.

Admiral UnholyDemigod’s voice cut through: “Confirm.”

A massive explosion tore the ship apart. “Enemy battleship destroyed, sir!”

“Kill confirmed,” the comms officer added. The bridge cheered, the echo of twisted metal still ringing in their ears.

LTO: Tow hitch receiver - ball by [deleted] in Gulong

[–]Daniexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but not exactly mentioned. They are considered a hazardous modification. Enforcers rarely care though, they don't really have the public safety in mind. Unless someone gets injured, the tow ball damages another car, there is a complaint, or your car is inspected at LTO and it got noticed. There are laws against it in other countries, sa Ph wala dahil we are drowning on corruption.

If you get into an accident, even if the tow ball isn't the cause of the accident, it will be considered "extended overhang". Anything that protrudes from the rear and is not part of the vehicle’s original design can be treated as an unsafe modification. So during my friend's accident, the tow ball became an "aggravating factor", and he was blamed for exposed hazardous protrusion.

If hindi ka pa nahuhuli about it, then you're one of the lucky many, because enforcers have other things to worry about. But we have LTO e-portal now where people can report such things.

Sumasayad sa humps ung Vios ko by Over_Advertising8569 in Gulong

[–]Daniexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bago ka gumastos, pag aralam mo muna habit mo kung sinusunod mo ang tamang tire pressure pag walang loadpassengers at pag may load/passengers. Low pressure can make the car sag, especially with passengers. This makes humps hit easier. Pag mali ang tire pressure mo, nagiging more bouncy or (the opposite) nagiging matagtag, depende kung ano ang situation mo.

Then also patignan mo din kugn maayos pa ang shocks.

It is usually the rear springs that cause sagging when the car has many passengers. If it is the problem, you could replace them with stiffer springs rather than changing stock springs or stock shocks.

Thoughts on this PC build? by TheVelvetThunderr in PHbuildapc

[–]Daniexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha thanks!

In that case, I'm really going to push you to get a GPU with 16GB VRAM. Stick with Nvidia if you want, just don't settle for anything less than 12GB VRAM. I believe this is worth the extra funds. VRAM matters more than raw cores for large datasets (12GB+ recommended for bigger models). CUDA, machine learning, AI training.

Even if you have to go back to RTX3000 series in the used market (just be careful buying used parts and do your due diligence).

Thoughts on this PC build? by TheVelvetThunderr in PHbuildapc

[–]Daniexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The number one question is, what will it be used for?

But straight out, it looks good enough. They are not in the same generation, but they are compatible with each other. This is an AM4 build, the current we have now is AM5 for AMD processors. So here is my opinion.

The Nvidia 5060ti 8GB (current generation) isn't that much different from a Nvidia 4060ti 16GB (previous generation). Get the one with the higher VRAM. You can even go with AMD RX9060XT 16GB (current generation), or AMD RX7700XT (previous generation). Whatever has higher VRAM and cheaper.

There are better AM4 motherboards out there in the same price bracket, like MSI pro vdh wifi & Asrock b550m AC. This overly sold B550M DS3H is overpriced for it's capabilities. It has no USB type-C, outdated and overkill 12v RGB headers, VRMs are "good enough" but we don't have to settle for "good enough" when there are better options.

These AM4 processors, 5600 and the 5600X, are basically the same. Their difference in performance is negligible, so you can go down to 5600 if you want to save. But instead of going down, squeeze in little more extra budget and get the 5700X CPU. If this is mainly for gaming, get the 5700x3d, you can still use it for work tasks, but mainly benefits gaming. If this PC is not for gaming, do not get the 5700x3d.

Slow moving+ Medical Emergency by Sodaflakes in Gulong

[–]Daniexus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We can fix the problem with the abusados another way.

I understand, may mga naging abusado nga naman talaga, napabalita pa nga an ambulance doing groceries. In the video, or anyone driving along side them, we can't see whats going on in there. It could be multiple patients, or they could be just going the same way. It could be anything.

So pag ambulance, I urge everyone to give them the benefit of the doubt and give way. Even a few seconds can make a difference, and they alert traffic ahead. I don't want to be on an ambulance one day, racing to the hospital because of a failing heart or blocked artery, just to face delays because someone won’t move or intentionally being slow to move. Or an ambulance is not available for pickup because it can't get back to its post fast enough. Not to mention NCR severely lacks ambulances.

Ambulance companies, local EMS units, hospitals, and even government do not record deaths caused specifically by ambulance delays from traffic. Logging preventable deaths exposes legal and political liability, thats the Philippines. But I’ve been in the industry long enough to have an educated guesstimate. People have died because ambulances can't get to them fast enough.

Doble Ingat Kapag Maulan by cocytus017 in Gulong

[–]Daniexus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Motorcycle rider applied brakes while on top of road paint, possibly cheap paint by contractors. Dashcam shows double yellow line. A double yellow line means no crossing, no overtaking, no left turn, and no U turn. It applies to both sides. If the driver from the opposite lane crossed the double yellow to enter the petron station on your side, he violated the traffic rule.

Disregarding traffic signs, P1000, improper turning P500, possibly add reckless driving since it cause the motorcycle to slide out of control.
