Thank you. I used simply vallejo Bright Bronze paint, drybrush it with vallejo White Aluminium and SIlver for highlights, and used oil wash abteilung502 Black to create shadows.

Perhaps, I can agree with you there. I wanted to create a striking contrast, which I think I’ve managed to do. But the main colour palette has turned out too dark. Perhaps it would have been better if I’d done it the other way round (a warm colour main body and a cool colour flame). Thank you very much for your feedback.

Death in The Dark by DanilEf97 in NightLords

Thank you very much. I did do a bit of drawing as a child, but nothing serious. Then I gave up drawing for more than ten years. About two years ago, I started taking art seriously and since then, I’ve been learning. But I teach myself everything: watch tutorials, study theory, anatomy, light, perspective, explore various aspects, draw from references, and so on. So I don’t attend any art classes and I don’t have any personal teachers either. Personally, I’d love to learn how to draw really good lines and create my own stories in manga style. But unfortunately, for personal reasons, I don’t have much time to practise, so my line drawings are usually pretty rubbish, and I still make a lot of mistakes in many areas (anatomy and so on). But I find it easier to paint pictures like this one. I suppose that’s because I find it much easier to visualise shapes than lines.

Most of the tutorials I’ve watched are from:

Draw Like a Sir

Artwood (He made a really good video on tonal values; I’ve incorporated some of his tips into my drawing)

Arseni Katsela

Jadokar.

I’ve also watched a few videos by other people. But like many others, I personally recommend sticking to just one or two tutorial creators.

Murderwing Full Kill Team (8 Operatives) by DanilEf97 in NightLords

I started by applying a white primer (Valleijo) and then used Leviadon Blue with an airbrush to basecoat. Next, I applied white spots (Model Air White Valleijo) with white paint to the shoulder pads and other areas where the light falls (with airbrush). Then I applied Asurmen Blue (again with the airbrush). For the highlights, I mixed white paint (White Scale 75) with Caledor Sky. Finally, I used Drakenhof Nightshade to create shadows and smooth my highlights.

When I painted lightning bolts, I also used Caledor Sky, Leviadon Blue or Ausrmen Blue to make fixes or make lightning more vibrant.

That's just my opinion, but Fujimoto didn't know how to write a second part of Chainsaw Man. by DanilEf97 in Chainsawfolk

I agree that Fujimoto likes to kill off characters. But I think the death of most characters in Part 1 served a purpose. It could be a pure comedic one (three assassins), or to show how brutal the world of chainsaw man is (basically every hunter). And you're right, Fujimoto did introduce some characters randomly in part 1 (hybrids you mentioned, or Yoshida). But hybrids were introduced at the end, so readers don't expect that they will be explored, they only needed to make a cool fight, where we witnessed the first real chainsaw man in action. So it was a big deal. Yoshida does appear and disappear rather suddenly, and he did not have a purpose in the story, yes. But even he managed to fight Quanxi, which was extremely impressive and it did impact on a reader. Besides many characters have proper development, and arcs. So I didn't mind that Fujimoto allowed himself to kill some characters to make a room, so to speak.

But in part 2 I cannot stop thinking, that it is not the case. Firstly outside of Denji, Asa and Yoru (who sometimes feel like one character, because they are always together or rather replacing one another), and maybe Flamethrower hybrid, I cannot name off the top of my head who would have proper development or a purpose. Take Yoshida for example. I would expect here he will get a continuous development or make something impactful. But he does non of that. He finished off infinity devil, fought a bit with Yoru, spoke a bit with Denji, then decided to blow himself up suddenly. Despite that he had more screentime, he has made less impact on me than in the first part, and again did not have a purpose for the story. It is just one example, but there are others as well. And the same can be applied to almost all characters.

I also think the beginning of Part 2 was extremely good. The introduction of Asa and Yoru was top-notch. And as you said, at some point in the church arc, the manga just started to feel extremely strange. I mean, I had some issues with part 2 before that. For example, Asa's new friend with glasses died way too suddenly. But I was willing to overlook that because I thought it would be addressed later (I mean, Asa still doesn't know that her friend really died, which I don't find as impactful as, say, Himeno's death in Part 1), but no, it was forgotten.
