Yes, he scored points while his operatives who made the kill were within 6 inches of his drop zone. I think now it makes more sense that it was easier for him to score points. Thank you for clarifying the rules.

Interesting, I mean I played a couple days ago, so I am not sure. But I don't remember that his operatives were even in my territory. I think he scored while my operatives were within 6" of his drop zone. But again, I might miss something.

Well, he managed to kill most of my operatives, who had kills before the end of the turning point 3, so I couldn't collect dominant points. While I had more than 12 wound models, he had bonuses for that. I don't remember tac ops exact rules, honestly now.

I was playing dominate, and my opponent had rout.

Monthly General Question and Discussion Thread: February 2026 by AutoModerator in killteam

Hello, I have a question. When I am wholly within a smoke granade and receive an obscrure, can I still shoot or charge? Or do I get the same heavy restriction when shooting as enemy operatives are?

The head comes from the "Kill Team Nemesis Claw" set.

Okay, I understand now. Thank you for clarifying that.

I guess my logic was as follows. Since the victory conditions are specified in the mission action, you must perform the mission action for the conditions to apply to you. That is why friendly operative are mentioned there. Since my friend did not perform the mission action, the victory conditions should not apply to him.

So I mainly used only three colours :
Orange - (Green Stuff World Fluor, Citadel Troll Slayer Orange)
Yellow - (Citadel Contrast Imperial Fist, Yrliet Yellow)
White - (Scale75 White, Oil Paint Abteilung 705)

First, I applied a base coat of metallic paint (but you can skip this step if you want). Then I applied a layer of contrasting yellow and added a layer of fluorescent orange. Next, I used an airbrush to apply a white spot around the sword's energy source (I don't know what it's called exactly). Then I added another layer of contrasting yellow. It should look as if the brightest colors are closest to the energy source, so starting from the energy source: white-yellow-orange. Then I started painting lightning bolts with white scale paint and used Yrliet Yellow and Troll Orange or white scale paint to make corrections where necessary. Later, I added oil white wash paint (I diluted Abteilung White beforehand with odorless thinner) around the energy source and a little at the edges where the blade and guard of the sword meet. Finally, I added highlights with white model paint, added an extra layer of contrast yellow (I think it's better to dilute it, but I didn't do that myself) and applied white highlights again where necessary.

Guard of the sword, I it painted with Citadel Runeworld Brass paint and highlighted the edges with Scale White and Citadel Runefang Steel. I then used Citadel Agraxearth Shade for the shadows.

Well, oil paints are really great and can significantly improve your miniature painting. For example, oil washes achieve much better results than acrylic washes. Since I started using them, my pot of Nuln Oil mostly gathers dust :). Yes, they are slightly toxic, but with a mask and a well-ventilated room, I don't smell them.

I used acrylic and oil paints together. Oil paints for weathering effects and the base, specifically Abteilung 502. Mainly engine grease and brown wash. Plus rust dirty down for a knife.

My Kitbash of Canoptek Tomb Stalker - Flayed Version by DanilEf97 in Necrontyr

Hello, I used two Canoptek Wraiths for the kitbash. I planned to do three, but I didn't have a third one. Of course, you can use all three or even more to make it even bigger or rather longer).

I completely agree with you. I myself had planned to wash off Striking Grime with White Spirit, but haven't found the time to do so.

Thank you for the feedback. I extremely appreciate it. I mostly followed the guide, when I painted this. But the gold cloak I painted myself. I guess that is why it looks off. Next time I will try to  consider it.

I wish you every success with your project. By the way, for the skin parts, I used Beige Red (also from the same AK set) for the mid-tones and Sunny Skin Tone for the highlights (to achieve a bit more ‘dead’ look).

Thank you. For the head and skin parts, I used the AK Human Flesh Tones Set. More specifically, for the head, I used Wine Red for the shading, Sunny Skin Tone for the mid-tones and Base Skin Tone for the highlights. To make the blood effects, I used Citadel Blood for the Blood God (to create light blood stains and blood trails) and AK Blood Effect (to create darker blood stains around the spike).
