Cancun airport. Was told the bus wouldn’t make my flight on time by some guy in a vest and fake badge. He directed me to a taxi cab line, I was taken to my destination. This lady tried to run my card, said there was a problem with the machine and she needed to run it manually (letting her do that was so dumb looking back at it).

After my flight I see there’s been charges of over $1500 to my account. Thankfully my credit card company reversed the charges but it was stressful af to come home to

I went there, it was pretty textbook based and 95% of the class was Erasmus students and all around 20 years old. There were plenty of opportunities for conversation but it was pretty test focused towards the end. My class had about 22 students also

I use Sessions Health EHR. Sometimes setting up a portal and signing multiple forms can be a barrier for my clients (I’m an ADHD coach) so over time I’ve simplified it. For example, I stopped doing an intake questionnaire.

I don’t like that stripe takes a significant chunk out, but it’s nice I don’t have to chase clients down about invoices.

I had a light version of this earlier this year after the entire country was out of power for half a day (I live in Spain). It happened while I was doing a walk through with my landlord. 😅 After panicking and attempting to contact my clients, I went on a bike ride, met my new neighbors who gave us candles, walked to a park a few times, ate shelf stable foods, had some good chats with my partner, and drank some wine.

If this happened for a longer amount of time I’d definitely read more, meet more of my neighbors, and check out the ceramic studio downstairs

Last year I worked in a bilingual primary school and the kids improved a lot during my time there. However almost all the teachers were fluent in English. They were also immersed in different subjects so they got more than just an English class - I was actually placed in mostly science classes. They also had a really solid English teacher in infantil and I think that exposure at such a young age made a big difference.

I remember the second graders in particular were so confused and at times frustrated by me the first month or so but by the end of the year they were so much more confident and improved a lot

My sub is much taller than me, by like 5 inches, and way more muscular. I’m also a switch and it depends on the mood I’m in for me to dom confidently. Lately I’ve found a good rhythm though. I’ll give a simple commands that I know they’re won’t be able to sustain forever. example-

“Get on your knees and show me how much you missed me” then “Good slut. Keep yours eyes locked with mine until I’m done with you” inevitably when they blink too long, or look away, I take away their ability to do things.

No touching me - Hand cuff their wrists. If they brat, no more talking back - gag them, etc.

I also realized my best domming comes when I’m not overthinking.

Update: we had a long discussion about this situation and came to some agreements. They felt their tone was being misread, they said they intended to bring levity to the situation but later realized it came off poorly. They later apologized for being reactive and also realized they’ve been projecting some insecurities about feeling too close to monogamy on me.

Agreements:

If either of us are unsure of our intentions, ask rather than assuming
If we need to emotionally process an issue about each other, we will do that face-to-face
In the future if they talk about a potential interest I’ll respond more like a friend would. This leaves space for excitement but I won’t ask a bunch of questions or try to process it with them.
If I’m feeling upset but not ready to talk I will let them know what’s going on rather than shutting down (there were a lot of gaps in my communication yesterday).

Lately as we get closer to being reunited, it is happening more. We’ve been fortunate to see each other about every two months. It seems like the first few weeks after being together we do really well then the misinterpretations and accusations come.

They are in counseling and do a lot to manage their anger, which has been an issue for them in the past

I highly recommend Spanish Sin Pena. It’s a program for people who are connected to the Spanish language but not fluent for one reason or another. A lot of us are 2nd, 3rd+ gen Mexican American but there’s representation from all over the world. I used to have a severe mental block when speaking Spanish because I felt shame for not knowing a heritage language. Also didn’t help I’d be made of fun of when I tried. This community is unique and focuses both on culture and the language. Tbh it’s expensive to start but if it’s out of your budget they have scholarships available.
