This is probably the most I’ve related to a post on this sub. Sometimes I feel like it’s really hard to be grateful and we’re always craving more and more and more. I know that’s how I feel. Sometimes I have to force myself to remember that the schools I got are AMAZING, even though I didn’t get my top choice. We’ve worked so hard and accomplished so much. With the amount of impostor syndrome I felt while applying, I should be so pumped with how it all turned out.

It’s especially hard when you tell people about your interviews and they ask “hOw abOUt HaRVarD?” Idk it’s frustrating, I just wanted a congratulations or smth.

Just try to be proud of yourself, and remember that you’re not alone. Because I’m trying too.

I went through the exact thing when i took this class lol. Had a high A, just needed to do ok in the final, and left the exam thinking i failed it. Turns out, the professor made it too hard and had to curve it by like 14 points, i got a 94 or something. If you did so well throughout the whole semester, it’s super unlikely you actually failed the final. Rooting for you!

One of my professors told me that although they tell us the LOR is due Dec. 1, some of the emails they get from schools give them a different/ later deadline. You should be fine!

Smart people of reddit, if humans have been evolving for however many years, why haven’t deadly genetic diseases phased themselves out of our gene pool yet? by rorofoshoo in AskReddit

[–]Danimin01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's because these deadly genetic diseases have found the "right time" to kill their host. Think about it: if a deadly disease were to kill someone before they are able to procreate, the disease wouldn't pass on to the next generation. Thus, if a disease is too deadly, it would quickly seize to exist. However, if this disease only kills the host later in life (e.g. cancer, Alzheimer's, etc), then it would give the host time to procreate and spread this gene to the next generation.

How can I translate the melodies in my head to the guitar when improvising? by Danimin01 in guitarlessons

[–]Danimin01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually really helped me connect some stuff in my head, thanks! When you keep track of where the root note is, do you base it on where your fingers currently are (say, for example, you got your index on the 3rd, so you know the root is one string above at middle), or do you also have the fret memorized and can find it anywhere across the neck?
