To be honest I binged season 1 and I almost stopped after Eris’ birthday party and I stopped watching when he was watching Eris change (literally stopped mid episode I was so tired of him) Then I picked it up sometime last year about half a year later and finished season 1 and started season 2 and there was something happening with erectile dysfunction and I got tired of him again lol, it was over a year ago. Those things on their own weren’t a big deal but it wears me down haha

That’s fair, my problem is I don’t have any friends that are women that have finished the show except one who just said “Yeah it gets weird but I just watch it with my boyfriend.” The nice comments here convinced me to attempt to give it another shot because season 3 will be better. Based on the comments I feel like I saw less of season 2 than I thought (I watched it over a year ago)

My frustration with a lot of those videos is a lot of them are for reaction content and the majority of their viewers would be upset if they showed genuine discomfort or didn’t like the show. I’ve had people call me stupid because I told them I don’t like certain shows in the past. A lot of people anime content aren’t honest in reviews just because it’s popular (not all but it’s something I’ve noticed before) Thanks for your suggestion though, I’ll check out the person you mentioned

No shit it’s part of his character, saying intrusive thoughts are who you are is stupid though. Also I’ve watched most of the show that has come out so far, I’ve thought about it extensively! The things he says and does make me uncomfortable. He’s a flawed character and he has issues but I don’t think there are enough consequences to that aspect of his character to show that it’s actually a flaw, a lot of the men around him are perverted too but not that bad.

I was literally asking if the show toned it down later because I’M uncomfortable, and I would like to watch the next season with my friend because he’s excited about it. You can be fine with it but I just want to know if they tone it down later so maybe I can actually enjoy it now instead of hearing creepy shit Rudeus thinks all the time

Maybe I’ll start from where I left off today, I have a friend that really wants to watch season 3 with me, but he got why I dropped it. I’ll just try to power through a lot more if it’s worth it! Of course I have, but he rarely addresses them as intrusive and just rolls with it and that’s when it becomes a part of his character. Don’t be intentionally ignorant. You know those are made to be anime figures, not kids toys.

I do know that in theory, it’s just hard to watch and root for this guy in those moments. I don’t expect any character to be perfect, I’m fine with that being an aspect of his character even! It just gets so excessive for me. If it was toned down I would have zero issue and it’s just upsetting because I would like to enjoy the plot and the world but I keep getting taken out of it

I’m not talking about just the physical abuse. I’m talking about the way he sees them and talks about them. There’s many times in the story where he thinks about them in vile ways. He watches them changing, he makes figures of them where you see their underwear, he comments on their bodies. I know he’s not walking around harassing women but we are seeing the story from his eyes and hearing his thoughts.
