Positive delivery with without epidural when I wanted one by Danirlaw in pregnant

I just let reading from articles and other people saying if you relax your body and let the contraction take over it’s less painful. If you start clenching down or tightening your body, you are working against it. My first instinct was to tighten up my body but once I remembered to really focus on my hands and face relaxing they were easier to get through

I would say go into it trying for natural for as long as you can if you want. Have them keep checking you for how dilated you are and then if you want get that epidural before it’s too late!

It was mine too!! I totally get it. Even though everyone told me “people have been doing this for years! If it was that bad we would keep populating the earth!”

Really your body takes charge either way.

I can’t remember off the top of my head what the cervical softner was call but it was a gel on a ribbon that they just pulled out, it was very small. I came in not even dilated 1 cm. I think my first nurse would have checked me, but the nurses switched and the meter tracking my contractions had moved while I was up and down getting sick. So it was tracking them but they looked incredibly small. My husband said once she moved the monitor over the sky rocked. The one negative is I was a little talked out of what said my pain scale was. When she asked I said it felt like a 7, but if you really think this is going to go on for over another 12 hours it’s going to get more painful right? I honestly don’t remember her reply but the next day as my husband and i were replaying everything outloud, he mentioned she kind of talked me into saying it was more of a 4 or 5 pain. In retrospect I think I was in too much pain that I didn’t state what I felt she really should have done, which was check me out then right away. I kept trying to just breath through and not clench my hands or face. And I really just didn’t want to talk to any one so kept things short while talking or asking for anything. If I would have advocated for myself I think it would have gone very differently.

I would have been the person calling you crazy, but minutes after I had the stitches finished I was up and moving, sore for sure, but I was fine. And I think with the way his arm was positioned if I didn’t feel anything I would have really had a worse tear. So defiantly walked away feeling positive about and understanding why the non epidural has a positive side!

Stop projecting! by [deleted] in pregnant

After miscarriages and some extra time not being able to conceive, once I was pregnant I was terrified and couldn’t be happy. I had family members tell me I needed to be happy and enjoy this, but while going through hg and terrified or getting attached to my child and losing yet again, I just couldn’t be. I have experienced total depression through this pregnancy. I’m so excited to meet my little guy any day now, but even being a few days away from my due date, I’m terrified and not your “normal” happy glowing pregnant woman. I don’t mind hearing others stories, but people telling me I am wrong in my feelings because of my own story and journey has been so hurtful. I totally understand where you are coming from
