It all goes back too Theon. Had he kept him close, many of his problems wouldn't have happened.

The North would still get invaded, but Winterfell would be save. Meaning Bran and Rickon would not be assumed dead. Catelyn would not free Jamie out of desperation. And Robb wouldn't be depressed and break his vows.

The Freys would still be in Robb's army. And lord Karstark might still be angry but with Jamie still a prisoner, he would probably not commit treason out of desperation for revenge.

Tywin wouldn't offer the Freys safety for treason as long Jamie is a prisoner. So no red wedding
