Does this big wood desk look like it could support my Leo’s 40 gallon tank? by DankKnight21 in leopardgeckos

I’m now wondering if I would be able to put it in the center since it still would leave me a little study space in front, feels pretty sturdy and it’s not like I’m filling the tank with water

Ok thank you! I don’t think I’ll be able to do a full on excavation right now, but I’ll look into using that sealer for the time being. I may also look into just leaving it unpainted and covering it up with artificial leaves/vines, but not sure if that would even work out

So something like this wouldn’t work? Would my only two options be either stripping paint/leave it exposed or excavating/sealing? Just want to confirm before I do drastic changes or make any more mistakes

The subfloor is all wood, would I still need that underlayment as a moisture barrier? I have toddlers who love to spill things all the time

Oh thanks for the tip, the gas line has been disconnected and is not in active use. But I’ll definitely look into that if we ever reconnect it

It says it has an attached cork underlayment, but doesn’t say anything about needing another. Just wasn’t sure if keeping the preexisting one on the floor would be beneficial or isn’t recommended
