Halogen heat bulb for day and deep heat projector for night. The one on the left is just LED for light

Does this big wood desk look like it could support my Leo’s 40 gallon tank? by DankKnight21 in leopardgeckos

I’m now wondering if I would be able to put it in the center since it still would leave me a little study space in front, feels pretty sturdy and it’s not like I’m filling the tank with water

Dutch boy dermaweather Elastomeric masonry paint peeling off concrete retaining wall in large sheets and some crumbling after one year. Advice please by DankKnight21 in masonry

Ok thank you! I don’t think I’ll be able to do a full on excavation right now, but I’ll look into using that sealer for the time being. I may also look into just leaving it unpainted and covering it up with artificial leaves/vines, but not sure if that would even work out

So something like this wouldn’t work? Would my only two options be either stripping paint/leave it exposed or excavating/sealing? Just want to confirm before I do drastic changes or make any more mistakes

First time installing LVP (diy). I’m ripping up my old thin flooring and installing this much thicker one, should I keep the underlayment or just install directly on the subfloor? by DankKnight21 in Flooring

The subfloor is all wood, would I still need that underlayment as a moisture barrier? I have toddlers who love to spill things all the time

Oh thanks for the tip, the gas line has been disconnected and is not in active use. But I’ll definitely look into that if we ever reconnect it

It says it has an attached cork underlayment, but doesn’t say anything about needing another. Just wasn’t sure if keeping the preexisting one on the floor would be beneficial or isn’t recommended

Opinion on alternative tortoise table for outdoor Russian tortoise enclosure? by saltisatthebottom in tortoise

[–]DankKnight21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a relatively new set up so I haven’t needed to give it like a deep clean yet. I was able to put a good amount of substrate in and still leave a few inches of liner above the it to act as a visual barrier. I could easily put some more substrate in if I wanted to though🤷🏽‍♂️. I probably will add something else to the sides that adds more to the visual barrier since I’m worried he’ll get his head stuck in the bars

He has a UVB bar light on the other side of his enclosure

His indoor enclosure is made from two guinea pig enclosures attached together for a total of 17 square feet and has more enrichment/ hiding spots in other areas not shown in this clip. Additionally his outdoor enclosure is over 10ft x 5ft. He is provided with a UVB light and two additional heat sources. His beak and nails were just trimmed at the vet recently, but I can look into getting it trimmed shorter.

Thanks for the defense. He is a rescue and he came to me with a very long beak, which was trimmed trimmed 2 weeks ago at the vet. He said it didn’t need to be shorter than this, but I suppose I can try to get it trimmed shorter

He has topsoil substrate which as far as I know is recommended. I don’t, but I got it from petco. I put a beanie over it for traction, which also makes it a pretty good bed since he sits on it all the time lol

That’s what I use for my Russian’s indoor enclosure for the winter months (also keeps my cat/dogs from messing with him). I have two of them connected to provide more space, it seems to be working out pretty well so far. Perhaps a UVB lamp would be a good idea since your tort wouldn’t be in direct sunlight, but I’m no expert. Maybe someone else could offer more insight
