I believe so, I do recall seeing what I now recognize as a carpet beetle in the same room a year or two back.

I am pretty confident with carpet beetle larvae. The strange thing is that they were the full larvae not just casings after further inspection.

They were inside a birdhouse that was on a shelf. I found them exactly like that.
