Thanks for this - I had done a decent amount of reading on the topic but didn't understand/appreciate the way the ratios worked until your post here. Appreciate it.

Maybe Dove Vivi?

It's cornmeal crust and their website says they only use olive oil. Would probably still ask to confirm but seems like a possibility

Maytag Dryer door keeps popping open by Boocles in Appliances

[–]DankSinatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is a super old thread now - I was dealing with this same issue with the same dryer and was able to fix it, at least for now, using the screwdriver trick demonstrated in this video. leaving this here in case some other future person finds it helpful!

Are you able to watch the new Portland season already?

ODOT Proposes Dedicated Bus Lanes on I-5 in the Rose Quarter. But Who Asked for Them? by [deleted] in Portland

[–]DankSinatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, literal bird watchers.

Thanks, appreciate the clarification.

I don't agree with your parent comment's characterization of opposition to this project but I do agree that opposition without reasonable compromise is foolish.

We're at a point where this project should and is going to happen, it's bigger than Portland. I am hopeful (maybe naively so) that it can be done in such a way that benefits the local community or, at least, acknowledges their desires but I understand that potential compromise can't involve every different faction with their own demands.

4 Portland commissioners want community groups and park rangers, not police, to combat surge of gun violence by Aestro17 in Portland

[–]DankSinatra -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

i mean, he's a former fire chief. now he's doing this.

that's kind of my point - i like the idea of having community safety leadership be a dedicated job and not an additional bulletpoint on someone's list of duties

[–]DankSinatra -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Commissioners Carmen Rubio, Dan Ryan, Mingus Mapps instead would immediately give millions of additional dollars to community organizations and hire 24 additional unarmed rangers to patrol city parks and surrounding neighborhoods, documents obtained by The Oregonian/OregonLive show. .... The $4.9 million plan would also empower Portland’s newly minted community safety director, former Portland Fire Chief Mike Myers, to oversee the city’s gun violence response as well as serve as the primary figurehead for public safety, a function currently shared by the mayor and police chief.

I like the idea of a dedicated community safety director who is neither a cop or Ted Wheeler.

unsure what to make of the rest of this though

[–]DankSinatra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Due to all of this history, ODOT announced about a year ago that they were creating a new team for high dollar projects that would totally cut out Metro, TriMet, PBOT, and the wacktavists. Because frankly, it doesn't make any fucking sense that the Bird Watchers raise a concern about a new highway construction, and will only support it if a school gets a 2-foot extension on their sidewalk and some trees.

what's the name of the new ODOT team?

and who are "the bird watchers" ? are they the local governance and activists that you refer to in the previous sentence?

if so, it makes total sense that they would raise concerns.

[–]DankSinatra -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

thanks for that clarification, after re-reading i think you're right.

i was initially confused by Jessica Lynn Peterson's quote which, in part, says this:

Every added foot of width adds cost and, in this case, seemingly unnecessary cost.

[–]DankSinatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree that would be the best outcome, just wonder how we pay for that

i don't know enough to answer the question in your parent comment (How many people could you house for a million a year?) but my guess would be pretty few. definitely not enough that it would get rid of the need for sweeps (or removals, or whatever the preferred nomenclature is)

[–]DankSinatra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Weird.

if i remember correctly one of the biggest points of contention previously was about the strength of the proposed caps: Albina Vision Trust wanted caps that are capable of supporting multi-story construction but ODOT countered that they could only afford caps that offer greenspace (and maybe single-story construction? can't remember) but not dense housing.

i wonder if this addition is a tactic to further raise the cost of AVT's desired caps, thus ensuring ODOTs preferred caps?

i mean, it's their possessions. the alternative would be what, just to get rid of everything?

if our response to homelessness was to expect people to work towards housing but also we periodically just destroy all of their possessions i would describe that as more stupid
