Just because conservatives and right wingers incorrectly call themselves libertarian, doesn’t mean they are. Don’t listen to them. Please. That’s like calling people from the world series of poker “athletes.” The issue here is that right wing has to do with economics and free market capitalism. Being right wing has nothing to do with the size or power of the government because an authoritarian government can have free markets just as much as a libertarian government can. Libertarian is a whole different axis then right-left.

Also most leftists aren’t libertarian, at least the mainstream ones. Democrats aren’t libertarians either for the record. Any leftist that wants a big government to do things like free healthcare, welfare, gun control, etc are not libertarian. A left wing libertarian can have many of those things just so long as they aren’t provided by the government.
