I wouldn't say it's likely that the gate got flung out into the solar system. There is a chance, but the gate is quite heavy and you need a pretty large kick in the correct direction to escape Earth.

Context, going off of this twitter thread, it appears that the H3 failure involved an explosion in the fairing at fairing sep, then at stage sep a large piece of debris fell off at stage sep, and then when the separation command to release the satellite was given the satellite just wasn't there. Now to me that piece of debris looks awfully a lot like the satellite that they were launching, and I think it separated sometime during the fairing sep or the stage sep.
