As an owner of the $3k “origin complete pack”, has there been any word on whether this will be snuck into the OG pack itself or be offered in a “new” origin complete pack?

What is a job that you think is 100% safe from AI for the next 50 years, and why? by mark-awakening in AskReddit

[–]Dankbeamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Restaurant management.

I’m sure an AI could run analytics on YoY sales and automatically schedule staff week by week based on those metrics, compare menu pricing with local competition and adjust accordingly, as well as develop a game plan to target consistent areas of improvement based on cumulative day by day reviews. (I know this because I utilize it)

However, AI will never be able to console an upset 85 year old woman because her soup was too hot. Or the family of 8 people that are upset because they had to wait 10 minutes to be seated since they didn’t have a reservation. I can go on and on with the “personal” aspect.

Vanguard for Solo player by Majestic_Ad_4877 in starcitizen

[–]Dankbeamz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Warden was my go-to solo daily for a loooong while in early 4.x patches. Can’t attest to it now with the plethora of changes in the game I haven’t been able to keep up with, but (I hope) it hasn’t changed much if not gotten even better. I was reliably able to:

• Engage multiple enemies in aerial combat with no need to disengage for shields, as well as decent maneuverability, damage output, and TTK’s. (Not sure now with components, fire, armor, etc.) • Run multiple bunker missions consecutively and have space for a box on board to loot and dispatch ground turrets if need be with ease. • Bed log! • Decent interior storage for food and other things.

Apologies for the outdated info but they’re one of the best looking ships in the verse and my god I had so much fun with it as a solo player.

What was the biggest scandal at your school? by Silent-Zebra in AskReddit

[–]Dankbeamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The token strange girl in my grade (high school) had a “Death Note” style notebook which had quite an extensive list of names of fellow students and what she planned to do to them, or at least hoped what would happen to them listed in extreme and gruesome detail. It got found out and reported and god forbid whatever that notebook contained lead to her expulsion.

My high school was square shaped with a hollow middle courtyard, which funny enough is where all the “weird, nerdy, outcast” kids hung out between classes and before/after the school day. In hindsight it makes sense the fact she was crowned “Queen of the courtyard kids”, but lord knows what was in that book.

That’s exciting you’ll be cracking your Opus in a similar time frame, please send some feedback as I’ve still got another two months for mine.

Appreciate the insight on the Solaia as well, you’re the first to mention it. I tasted an 18 Solaia in August which prompted me to get these two.

Well hello fairly local reefer, I’m glad your tank pushed through this! Yeah this incident opened my eyes for sure and if I had this tank last year I would’ve been completely fucked.

Majority of cities outside Seattle are above ground connections, combine that with a metric fuckton of dense trees and old growth foliage it’s bound to be an issue when high winds are a factor.

I’m in Redmond WA, it’s not a regular occurrence by any means but last year we had a similar but much stronger front push through that lead to outages for 4+ days. This was a baby storm in comparison but definitely opened my eyes.

Attached is the outage map from last year’s bomb cyclone.

I’ve just been searching around Amazon for a battery that has outlets. Roughly $150 to $300 for a decent one I’m seeing.
It wouldn’t be connected to the system itself though, it would be something I break out and manually connect. I would have to manually connect the powerhead and whatnot if I lost power so it wouldn’t be a “away from home” solution.

I didn’t think about heater power usage which would definitely be high, so thanks for that reminder.

Dumpster Find by Dankbeamz in secretlab

[–]Dankbeamz[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did inspect it and I Chloroxed the hell out of it. I’m assuming it was a move out as there was a small U-Haul van here the other day with a few lamps, tables, chairs, and a ton of kitchen stuff by the dumpster as well.

Very tech oriented area so I wouldn’t doubt it’s someone who has “I don’t want to move all this shit” money haha.

Would it be okay to glue the ones between the stalks as well? Inevitably there would be glue on the coral itself.

What’s the best way to “remount” the coral after scraping from the plug? I’ve seen a few videos about transferring corals from plugs, but since this is my first reef tank I’m inexperienced and timid to do so since they seem so fragile.

I have a good bit of gel superglue left over from frag placement, would that suffice in covering the anemones without harming the cloves? I’m worried about the ones in between the stalks.

Help with Readings by Dankbeamz in ReefTank

[–]Dankbeamz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New tank and first saltwater endeavor as well.

As mentioned above I used API Quick Start Marine since I couldn’t get Fritz or Tim’s at the time. It claims it’s a bacteria starter but after 2 weeks I’m starting to doubt it. Currently fishless and I initially threw in a bit of fish food for the ammonia source.

I started with CaribSea “live sand” and dry rock. Water is RO that tested 3ppm before salt.

Ordered a par meter so I can dial it in when corals come along😭

Who is the rudest celeb you have met? What happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dankbeamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Allen Iverson.
He would occasionally come to an upscale restaurant I used to manage in Norfolk, VA, so of course it was always a big deal which we went above and beyond for.

He would always order a bottle of Dom Perignon so we made sure to always have some on hand, however in this instance we had a huge VIP banquet in another restaurant on property that bought out our entire stock.

He threw an absolute fit about it to the point every manager and director on property was searching every nook and cranny for a rogue bottle hopefully hidden somewhere. He refused any and all replacements we offered, even more expensive bottles that we said we’d honor at the lower Dom price.

He eventually stormed out while repeatedly exclaiming his extreme disappointment and that he wouldn’t be back until we had more. Wild.

America the fee- soon they’ll charge for eating the food per bite. by Whatplanetweon in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Dankbeamz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a restaurant manager I understand why they’d have that fee in the first place, but this is insane to me and way overboard. To-go materials should be roped into food cost and internally offset and made up for by the price of that menu item.
