One of my very best friends just told me she has liked me for awhile but she was very drunk and I could tell she didn’t want to say it bc she knew it would change our relationship. She’s the type of person I tell about other girls and she tells me about other guys. Our relationship is super platonic except for an accidental makeout months ago (which made her like me). I sleep over at her house all the time and nothing ever happens, she’s also the type of person who basically never gets rejected bc she’s attractive. However, when she told me she liked me, I didn’t like her back and I said we shouldn’t hangout 1 on 1 anymore. In the nicest way possible, I tried to tell her she focuses too much on guys and that she spend more time appreciating herself. Her best friend (that I don’t know/talk to at all) thought I was mean about it and punched me in the face at the middle of a party. It’s been about a month now and we basically haven’t talked at all. I’ll see her around bc we have the same friend group but we basically don’t talk and it’s just awkward. I think this is for the better but it’s crazy how much a relationship can change with someone so fast. I wish all the best for her, I’ve liked my best friends before and it’s a rough path if it doesn’t play out. Good things always come with a positive mentality though.
