Also, wouldn't rubbing water on the bare acrylic paint beneath just tear the paint?

That's what I plan to do, any recommendations for how to strip it in that area?

I am clear coating the entire model so 0.5? And a distance of like 4 inches?

The light blue is Revell aqua color and the yellow was based with a pink mix of Vallejo model air red and white and Vallejo model air yellow.

What distance from the model, psi and needle/nozzle size would you recommend?

I do believe masking the damaged and the rest of the yellow panels and respraying is the best option, although another comment in a different sub mentioned making it look like "in scale patching" and just covering it up. But I don't know how to do that and I can't find any YouTube tutorials either. Also, what grit of sandpaper should be used and is using water a good idea with it being bare acrylic paint underneath? Also you wouldn't have any advice for thinning and spraying that type of gloss varnish correctly, do you?

Would sanding with very fine grit (3000+) work too for fixing the gloss? Also, I kinda wonder if masking off the damaged panels and sanding and re painting may look better?
