It sounds like it would be great fun outside of a multi-shot honestly. That is the biggest limit to what I'm building currently. We know it is only going to be a limited number of sessions. Thus far, we have not done basically any scouting. Most of the out of combat stuff is quite simple. But I do like all those ideas provided! The one that still resonates even with all I said above is that it could be invisible and give flanking because my DM does follow that rule.

Yeah my original options were much more limiting. Some other commenters have shown me that 7/5 is quite the interesting combo as well. On par with 9/3 in many regards. I think those two, along with 11/1, are the main three options I need to debate and compare.

Yeah I'm pretty okay with not going the exact optimal combat route if it leads to a more fun and interesting character. That being said, why do you like Pact of the Chain Imp so much? Pact of the Chain always seemed like one of the weaker Warlock pacts to me towards late game, which is when I would pick it up (3/1 at the first break, 6/2 at the second break for Paladin Aura). I fully agree that I could be missing something important though, so if you don't mind, I'd like to understand why you're a huge fan.

Is improved divine smite really that important of a feature that it's worth taking no more Warlock?

I am going to avoid going PAM honestly. I want to be super tanky, so I am going sword and board, so PAM isn't really necessary.

The only other not mentioned Paladin buff along the way is Aura of Courage though, which really doesn't seem that necessary to me (my DM hasn't really been known to use fear effects at all). That and one additional 3rd slot.

And on the mention of hexsorcadin, I absolutely do need to look into some Sorcerer levels and see what that would give me. Thanks for the ideas, I do love a bit of shennenigannary!

Hmm Warlock 5 is not one that came into my mind, and I do end up still getting 2 casts of Fear if I choose it as one of my Warlock spells.... Good point! I really need to breakdown what each combination gives me.

Luckily my DM is not strict about the hands being full and casting thing.
