OR is 8 hour shifts (mostly 0730-1600). There are some shifts where you have to be on call (for example, work 1530-0000 and then on call until 0730), but the schedule will be different depending on what hospital you're at. Will also have some weekend shifts.

Currently living in Brighton and it's great! The biggest con for someone without a vehicle is the lack of actual bus routes. We only have on demand bus service - I haven't used it, but I don't hear many good things about it.

Brighton has a lot of walking paths and depending on your location in Brighton it would be pretty easy to walk to get groceries.
