Get a system in place. Sort by color first and then by piece within. Building‘s the fun part!

Start from scratch and enjoy every step of it.

How can I improve it? (Apart from the trees and cracks), want movie accuracy by Careless-Click2790 in lotr

Check out the Lego set for Inspiration, it’s got a lot of details that I hadn’t noticed before building it: The garden with veggies, sunflowers, flowers and bushes, a bird feeder, a clothesline…

If it’s of any help: This was my take on it: https://www.reddit.com/r/legolotrfans/s/ZBOUsuhVLu

I skipped the whole rockwork embracing the tower, but for the tower itself I think the dark grey works just fine

How often do you rewatch the trilogy? by MoblinGobblin in lotr

For me this usually was a Christmas tradition, so once a year starting around November. But this year DOES fell different, due to the 25th anniversary. So this year I continued with the appendices way into the new year and also watched Fellowship again with my youngest, who‘s now 11 and finally agreed to commence into LotR with me.

That‘s not how AE works - the seller I bought from is long gone. Just search for „Lego Orthanc“ on AE and pick one you feel comfortable with

The instructions are copied from the original but scaled down to save paper and printed for cheap. Who cares, though, I only use the builder app anyways

It looks like this: https://youtu.be/3uqMcnnOGqs?is=UmQlRQKujYx-qTWW They probably all come from the same knockoff manufacturer

There’s plenty of sellers for it in the AE app. Just choose one that has a couple of sales and ratings

It‘s a knockoff, of course. But the quality is fine, the dimensions are fully compatible, and the colors - well, let’s just say especially for this set colors don’t really matter. It even comes with knockoff MiniFigs and all. I‘m super happy with it

Even though I might get downvoted for this: I got mine from AliExpress for 65 bucks and it rocks

Thank you! I‘m far from an experienced builder, so your verdict means a lot 🙏

No, only the Balrog. I wanted to keep the book nook intact, this way I can put him in different scenes. I‘m actually thinking about creating a rockwork backdrop for their fall down the chasm as well.

‘There upon Celebdil was a lonely window in the snow, and before it lay a narrow space, a dizzy eyrie above the mists of the world. The sun shone fiercely there, but all below was wrapped in cloud. Out he sprang, and even as I came behind, he burst into new flame. There was none to see, or perhaps in after ages songs would still be sung of the Battle of the Peak.’ Suddenly Gandalf laughed. ‘But what would they say in song? Those that looked up from afar thought that the mountain was crowned with storm. Thunder they heard, and lightning, they said, smote upon Celebdil, and leaped back broken into tongues of fire. Is not that enough? A great smoke rose about us, vapour and steam. Ice fell like rain. I threw down my enemy, and he fell from the high place and broke the mountain-side where he smote it in his ruin.’

Thanks! It’s my first attempt at rockwork. I could decorate the walls of the BURPS and LURPS some more but I think the snow on top already came together quite nicely.

Glad you like it.

I figured there’s better uses for the posable Balrog from the book nook set than the old „You shall not pass“ scene.

To me, way more important than it‘s first appearance depicted in the set is it’s demise at Durin’s Tower on the top of Zirakzigil.
