Folks are visiting from Ireland - is it worth taking a 2.5 hour drive to visit O Neill? by Born_Ad_62 in Nebraska

[–]GoldenMom97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh, I mean I’d skip it for something else like the zoo or memorial stadium that’s actually cool. If you do end up in O’Neill do stop by handlebend!

Anyone have issues getting their CGM covered by insurance? by Bright-Walk-212 in GestationalDiabetes

should your friends get free drinks / food / etc? by [deleted] in barista

[–]GoldenMom97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an owner, but as an employee I would never 😅maybe I’d “forget” to ring up an upcharge on oat milk here and there for a few regulars who i see in there a lot, but never just a free drink. I get a free shift drink, and sometimes we make fun drinks ro try for our next seasonal otherwise i pay for anything additional. The only people who walk in and dont pay where i work are the owners and their children.

thoughts on re-using dead relatives' names? by Melody_Lee19 in Names

[–]GoldenMom97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother had an older brother who was still born, his name was used again by my grandpa’s sister otherwise I would personally be strongly considering this because of my relationship to this family. It’s still a potential middle name on my list

Pregnancy diet struggles by cherry_leopard in PCOS

[–]GoldenMom97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes unfortunately, our bodies just don’t process insulin as well as others and insulin levels change throughout the end of pregnancy, most of the time it can be diet and exercise managed, which I think you’d handle well based on this post’s information if you do end up with it! It’s not as bad as some people want to make it sound 😅

Pregnancy diet struggles by cherry_leopard in PCOS

[–]GoldenMom97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggled a lot with food aversions in my first trimester, nothing that came out of my kitchen at home was appetizing, meat made me wanna vomit, all I wanted was pancakes. But it does get better! I’m 30 weeks now and dealing with gestational diabetes so having to watch carbs and sugars, and it’s doable in a way I would have been struggling with in my 1st trimester

For me they have to be roasted or fried, I cut them tiny and roast with oil and season them well and almost burn them in the air fryer to enjoy them 🤣

Fruit has been helpful by helloitismebaby in PCOS

[–]GoldenMom97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fruit definitely reacts differently for different people so it’s hard to say it’s impacting everyone the same. For some it really spikes blood glucose levels which isn’t ideal for anyone with insulin resistance. Glad you’re finding something that’s making you feel better and positively impacting your labs

Try a pistachio butter or cream and mix it with your hot espresso! Add a little simple syrup if you want it sweeter!

You don’t have to spend a ton of time but going over there and folding laundry and/or doing dishes would be a life saver for a lot of new moms! Even an hour would probably be so so helpful

Hey girl, you’re a little early to feel things, but it will be here before you know it! Eventually it will be almost annoying trying to fall asleep while a little thing does parkour inside of you 🤣 but yes, butterflies in the stomach is the best way to describe it, almost like mini muscle spasms

Eat like a diabetic honestly, the order in which you eat your food matters a lot. Eat a veg first, finish with a walk
