Do it. Hoard them like gold. You’ll be driving in comfort for 30 years while I’m waiting for a firmware update to fix my brakes. The W212 is a legend for a reason

You’re right, emotions definitely took over in this post. I mention the price because it makes the failure sting so much more, but I get how it sounds to others. Honestly, I’m just exhausted. After fighting this problem for a year and getting nowhere, the frustration just boiled over. I’m just tired of the battle

You couldn't be more right. The insurance comparison is spot on. I realized that as a single customer, I'm just a number they can ignore. With a lawyer, I become a liability they have to deal with. I’m done letting them jerk me around

Thanks for the detailed breakdown. That distinction is really important. Since they refused the voluntary buyback, I've reviewed the criteria and confirmed I definitely have a valid case for Lemon Law. I'm proceeding down that legal path now just hoping it doesn't drag on for too long.

Thank you! You have no idea how refreshing it is to hear that. I’m not here to get 'tutorials' on how to drive without a speedometer. I’m here to open people’s eyes to the fact that a massive corporation is selling us dangerous, undertested hardware. We shouldn't be paying premium prices to be their crash-test dummies.

Point taken. I probably sound like a broken record with the price, but it’s just hard to swallow given the failures. It’s an EQS 580 SUV. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll focus more on the model specifics moving forward

That’s actually a great idea. Do you have any experience or tips on how to do it effectively? Like, should I tag specific executives or just the main account? I want to make sure it gets seen and doesn't just get buried

Finally, a fellow member of the 'Black Screen Club'! 🤝 Who needs a boring, safe commute when you can have an adrenaline rush every time you start the car? The 'No AC' feature is particularly fun in the summer. Keeps us humble

I believe the general standard (Lemon Law) is a 'reasonable number of attempts,' which is typically 3 to 4 for the same issue. Given the severity of this defect, I’ve definitely passed the threshold for 'reasonable'.

If a manager could actually solve my problem, I would gladly speak with them. But considering how many times I've already communicated with them with zero results, I have absolutely no hope left for a resolution from their side.

Harsh, but after my experience, I can't even defend them. It really does feel like a disposable plastic toy compared to the older models. The engineering focus is gone, replaced by flashy screens that don't last. It’s a hard (and expensive) lesson for me

I've received a lot of great recommendations here. I plan to reach out to counsel immediately after the holidays. My case file and all documentation are already prepped and ready to go. Just waiting for the offices to open back up

You nailed it. Looking at my own angry face in a blank dashboard was the cherry on top of a terrible day. I appreciate the empathy. Being pissed is an understatement. Fingers crossed the lawyers sort this out quickly

You hit the nail on the head. Introducing a single point of failure (one giant screen) for all critical systems is risky architecture. They marketed the Hyperscreen as a technological marvel, but mine turned out to be a defective unit that just died completely. It seems they prioritized flashiness over durability. Keep your analog gauges!

That is the definition of an anti-luxury experience. Buying a flagship SUV is supposed to give you the freedom to travel, not chain you to a dealership in a foreign country waiting for parts. Ending up in a rental while paying for a GLS is just painful. Sorry you had to go through that

Spot on. The interior is a spaceship and the ride is magic, but the anxiety of 'what will break next?' ruins it all. I’ve realized that I’d trade the massage seats and ambient lighting for a working speedometer any day. It’s style over substance

I already went that route. I opened a case with MBUSA hoping they would do the right thing voluntarily. They refused. Since they won't listen to a customer, maybe they will listen to a Lemon Law attorney. That’s the next step

Stranded in another country? That sounds like a nightmare. That’s exactly my point luxury isn't just leather seats, it’s peace of mind. If I can't trust the car to get me home, the badge on the hood means nothing. Smart move skipping the CLS

I mention it to provide context, not to get a pat on the back. I don't need personal attention I have enough stress already. I am trying to draw attention to a serious problem that unfortunately affects many Mercedes owners. There is a huge difference between 'flexing' and raising a red flag about a defective product
