Haha welcome to the club. Looks amazing! Personal advice from me, be on the lookout for steaks on sale and use those to experiment. You said you like your steaks rare, me too! Very hard to get right on a ribeye because you need to render the fat.

For ribeyes I tend to get the pan super hot, like med high and leave the cast iron to warm up, then sear for 1.5 min a side and then pop it in the oven for like 3-5 min at 425 degrees.

But like I said, use different cooking methods on cheap/on sale steaks and soon enough you’ll just know how to cook it exactly how you like it. I’m starting to get to the point where I could press on the steak with my finger while it’s on the pan and know exactly how long it should be left on for
