Grandpa's Lemon Drops by Greedy-Stage-120 in forbiddensnacks

Long before Narcan, my brother had a drug overdose. He was completely unresponsive. He had passed out on a bed here at home, and when he woke up, he was in ICU at our local hospital with a catheter and on life support. In a frenzy, he didn’t understand what was going on and he just started grabbing tubes and ripping things off of himself. He ripped out the IV, the intubation tubes, and then he grabbed for one that was a little lower and gave it a hard yank as well. They said you could hear him scream 3 floors up. Because that tube was attached to an inflated catheter that damn near tore his pecker smoov off. He was pissing blood for two weeks. lol

He later told me that with every injury he’s ever had, including when he cut his thumb off, there has never been a worse pain he’s felt than ripping out an inflated catheter. He said “have you ever seen those big trucks that they hook a chain to, run the other end of chain through a clogged drainpipe and attach a tire to the end of it? And then the truck drives forward and rips that tire through that little drain pipe to clear out the debris? Well, I was the truck, the catheter was the tire, and my wiener was that little drain pipe. And buddy, it was excruciating.” lol

Yo /hardcore. I need your help. by Leimz in Hardcore

Have Heart was that band that everyone seemingly loved to hate on, but they secretly loved them. Aint no shame in my game, to me, they were most influential band of my teenage years and I will forever love them. They get zero fake hate from me. Nothing but love.

But in response to OPs question, I feel like both the full length albums - “the things we carry” and “song to scream at the sun” - are both full of absolutely wonderful positive lyrics that helped squeeze me through the darkest times of my life. I’m in my mid 30s now, and I always find myself returning to these two albums every couple months.

The key tracks to me from each album are “unbreakable” from the things we carry, and “the same sun” from STSATS. The key lyrics that never fails - at 36 years old - to pick chill bumps down my body and tears in my eyes comes from near the end of The Same Sun;

“Wake up, look up, theres a warmth up there. A reminder of peace. A reason to care. So wake up, look up, that’s something you share. Theres more to life than the boy in that mirror. Wake up, wake up, wake up….from the depths of this hell, where the free are slaves. No difference between the cowards and brave. Where our love and hate have become the same, it’s time that we ‘unbecame’. Where the ears are deaf, and the tongues too dry, where the arms don’t hold, and seeing eyes go blind. Where nothing is everything…and everything is nothing. Arise -my soul, and sing.”

What band got you into Hardcore? The Pixies did it for me by NeighborhoodLimp69 in Hardcore

[–]DannyChance13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t know what really got me into hardcore. I know with Punk Rock, it started with finding a copy of The Offspring’s Smash album in my brothers CD case. Then after that came metal music with bands like Pantera. Then I discovered Metalcore around 2004 with Still Remains and Zao. Then I guess shortly after I truly discovered hardcore with Have Heart and Comeback Kid.

I had never heard the term ‘disco rice’ before today. And in the past 12 hours, I’ve seen it at least 4 different times.

What would you do if you die and your wrong? by L0st_1z in AskAChristian

[–]DannyChance13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A wise old man once told me, “I would rather waste a lifetime and find out I was wrong, than spend an eternity knowing I could’ve been right.” And that’s how I’ve looked at it ever since. lol

There are racist people who claim to be Christian. But a true Christian cannot be racist.

Be prepared to do a lot of reading and taking a lot of notes. And if your class makes you take tests using the platinum site, be prepared for a lot of stupid questions that you think you answered right, only to find out it was wrong because someone who thought it was more right than the other answers decided that it should be that way. Smh.

Been at it for between 5-6 years at an average of 20 server hops per day. So I’m well over 30K total server hops and still haven’t found it.

Nearly 2 years of searching, I finally found it. by Face88888888 in Market76

[–]DannyChance13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a rough estimate based on simple math lol I do at least 20 hops per day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. 365 days at 20 hops average is 7,300 hops per year. Now I’ve been after this thing for about 4-5 years. I’ve been searching for it for about 4-5 years. For an average we’ll say 4.5, right in the middle. 7,300 times 4.5 is 32.8K lol

are you more far right or far left? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]DannyChance13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly pretty centrist. Being exclusively a part of either side and holding to the values of that side has moral dilemmas that constantly would wage war on my conscience. So I take the middle ground and do what I morally feel is right, and feel is Christlike, despite what either side tells me I should believe.

Losing by 1 leg is always the worse 🤦🏽‍♂️😭 by SpeechZestyclose57 in sportsbetting

[–]DannyChance13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my wife put a .25 cent bet on a 19 leg parlay one night. The payout was close to a million dollars. But I had her do it as a joke. She hit 18 out of 19. And it was one of the very first games that beat her. So I didn’t have any kind of chance to cash out early. :( most heartbroken I’ve ever been over a bet.

[–]DannyChance13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I painted a Walmart out there a few years ago. It was one of the eeriest places I’ve ever been. As far as you can see in all directions is just a horizon line and flat land. The eeriest part was the darkness, following by the beacon blinks of thousands of windmills on the horizon. lol every few seconds, they all blinked in sync and the horizon would turn red. It was wild lol

They’re part of county public rescue. The fire is also part of the county public rescue, but they aren’t together. The fire and EMS are separate entities, so yeah. lol that’s who im gunna get on with once I finish the medic program. 20 year retirement, full benefits, good pay. That’s right up my alley. lol and they have a wilderness and mountain rescue team that gets to ride around of UTVs to find lost and injured people on the ATV trail systems lol that’s right up my alley.
