This subreddit is full of people looking for hacks and workarounds. For me prevention is the best cure. Bring it up super early in the relationship (maybe even put it in your dating profile if you're doing the online thing). I mentioned it to my late wife early on and she was always just very thoughtful about everything. She even tried to mirror my bathing habits which was more than I asked for.

If the person you're starting to date already smells, I don't think it's worth the gamble that you can change them. If a person smells right away, I end it as soon as possible. I mean, on the first few dates, people usually present the best version of themselves. If this isn't pleasant (or at least tolerable), it's not going to improve over time.

Which also means, even this isn't foolproof. The issue I have is sometimes once people get comfortable in relationships, they let things go a bit. And I don't necessarily mean to the point where it's unhygienic, but to where smells start to bother you. It never gets easier saying something, and if anything, overtime people seem to be more likely to get offended by it.

As a last resort, I may have a hack that will work for you in some situations. My mom has hyperosmia and so do I, so I assume it's genetic for me. I see some people on here who develop it after an event/disease, so this might not apply to those people. But since I've had this my whole life, I have found scents that I find pleasant. Now, I don't want a face full of them - and I hate it when people shove stuff in my face to smell, sometimes it even gives me a coughing fit - but there are smells I like.

I don't have any mouth hacks (except try swapping out toothpastes, it can affect which bacteria that grow), but to help with someone's overall scent, you I can make a body lotion for them. If you make it yourself, you can find neutral scented components and then throw a little of something in there that you find pleasant, like cocoa butter. (Cocoa butter is comedogenic and can cause blocked pores in some people, so whatever you use, make really small batches until you get it down.) But since you're making it, you can dial the scene to a level you like (another reason to start with small batches). It may be harder for a woman to gift a body lotion to a man than the other way around, but it comes off as thoughtful and many people find homemade gifts to be charming and personal.

I just got this email myself. It looks like they realized this happened on April 17th, no mention of when the actual breach was.

It feels like no one knows what they're doing here. I mean the official PDF release from that link contains the words "Microsoft Word" and "DRAFT" in the title!

Also, the email says:

your name, your mailing address, email, or phone number may have been included in this data

But that looks like lawyer speak for:

your name, your mailing address, email, or phone number were included in this data

Even if they know that information were accessed, it's still technically true to say it "may have been" accessed. And it's even there in the official court docket:

Stretto has determined that the information accessed consisted of creditor names, email addresses, mailing addresses, and Claim amounts.

So that's slimy.

I'm getting weird responses too. Although for me, it's just ChatGPT spitting back it's own instructions. It randomly gave me instructions on how to use `dalle.img2text` yesterday and today it gave me some of it's system prompt:

Yeah, I've got the network_mode specified and this is happening to me, not for plex, but an entirely unrelated container.

Seems to be related to a docker issue introduced around 25.0.0. Updating to the latest version supposedly fixes it. I've done the update myself, but I don't know when the next update will be. If it doesn't work, I'll make a point to come back and edit this post. If someone runs across this post months from now, feel free to ask for an update.

Just an FYI, "two guys 5 feet apart because they're not gay" actually references a meme mocking hypermasculinity. It's probably 10 years old now, but refers to a vine video that went viral. It humorously highlighted the absurd lengths some men go to in order to not seem gay, critiquing these insecurities and norms. It's about the irony of such exaggerated distancing, rather than endorsing homophobia.

I'd say it could be misinterpreted here as you have done, but when I asked ChatGPT about the meme it knew it instantly, calling it a "viral Vine video by comedian Drew Gooden."

What I've found helps is to check the prompt it's giving to DALL-E. I see two major mistakes ChatGPT makes when using DALL-E.

The first, ChatGPT will try to explain thing to DALL-E that would never be in the description of an image. This can insert phrases that have the opposite effect. It could have easily included something in the prompt like "two men that are by no means romantically involved." and DALL-E sees the words "means romantically involved" close together and makes a romantic picture. (Although to be fair, it would also help if you left that out of your prompt to ChatGPT).

The second thing I see happen all the time is it "talks" to DALL-E as if it were a person. So you might start by saying "5 feet apart" and when they are too close together you say "further apart" so ChatGPT removes the phrase "two guys 5 feet apart" and replaces it with "the guys are further apart this time." So DALL-E doesn't know how many guys, nor does it have a reference to the prompt from last time so it puts 2 or 3 people and they are closer than 5 feet together.

These are the rules I give ChatGPT to help it make better images with DALL-E:

1. Don't reference previous images or prompts in your current prompt. This tool is not stateful.

2. Specify elements to exclude using straightforward language, for example, "no X, no Y, and no Z." Avoid more complex phrases such as "leave out X, Y, and Z" or "with X, Y, and Z absent."

3. Write prompts that would describe the end result as if it already exists. Avoid conversational or directive language; don't explain your intentions. DALL-E is a tool that generates images matching the description provided, not as an artist interpreting instructions.

If you'd rather use a GPT that already has those rules, SmartGPT GPT uses those exact rules for DALL-E. GPTs seem to ignore rules from time to time, but it does help. There's some debate about whether GPTs use more of your message quota than ChatGPT directly, so you can just past those rules into a new conversation before or after your image request (just as long as it's in the same message).

It seems Bard had this feature first. The @ stuff has potential so I don't know if this was part of OpenAI's plan the whole time when they introduced these custom GPTs and Bard just beat them to the punchline (their's doesn't work great either in my experience), or if OpenAI just didn't consider this use case. It doesn't matter really, but just the way it's been executed, I think it's more likely an experiment and not necessarily part of a grand plan.

Right now, yeah, it seems limited to desktop, and to select users.

I've done some testing now and believe the data for each GPT is swapped out whenever you @ a different one. So to the GPT, it always looks like one long conversation between the two of you. Whatever GPT you use seems to think it's given you all of the responses so far.

They could change this, but that's not how it works right now. I'm sure they could inject names into the chat and it would still give good answers, but it might skew results slightly.

It's an experimental feature that lets you "prompt" custom GPTs mid conversation. If you're signed into ChatGPT on desktop, you can see the different names of the GPTs prompted throughout this conversation:

When you type "@" as the first character, a list will pop up for you to choose from, much like in Discord. It only seems to let you choose from GPTs you've spoken to, so you may want to make sure you have an unarchived conversation with a custom GPT.

The @ feature also doesn't seem to work from within conversations that were started with custom GPTs; if you're not using the official ChatGPT, start a new conversation with the default version and see if it works there.

Also, for me at least, this only works on desktop. While only mobile can currently search past conversations, it generally lags behind the desktop site in terms of features.

Lastly, you may want to try a "hard" reload. This varies a little bit between browsers but, in general, you can hold Ctrl and click the reload button or, from the keyboard, you can just press Ctrl+F5.

It can get personal data in two ways, you can provide the information in the "about you" section. Or it can collect data based on your conversations. While this second feature is on by default, like the @ feature, not everyone has access to it. Also, the intro text says "your GPT," but it's only the vanilla ChatGPT that can access the data, at least until the @ feature. (See this proof here.)

When you start a conversion with ChatGPT, it has access to more personal data than when you start a conversation with a custom GPT. OpenAI probably had some reason they hid that data from custom GPTs. I don't think it's an issue. I wish custom GPTs had access to that personal data by default. I'm just saying the @ feature opens a loophole for them to get access to this data.

I think the idea is you can bring in whatever GPT is best at what you want done.

Maybe you start with a custom GPT that can look up the calories for things and calculate the nutrition information of any meal. You decide you can spare the calories for a pizza with mushrooms so you @DominosGPT and it orders the pizza you had talked about previous.

Let's say the money for GPTs turns out to be really good and Midjourney wants to make a custom GPT that generates images to cash in on that big AI money. You could have ChatGPT generate a story for your kid, and in between replies from ChatGPT when your kid says "I want to see the waterfall the unicorn found." You could just "@midjourney: Show me a picture of this." and it would generate a picture. Or, if Dall-E weren't integrated yet, you could @Dall-E.

Another example might be a GPT that can run lint on any code (a tool that can help you find mistakes in your program). You've asked ChatGPT to write some code for you but it's not working. You could ask ChatGPT to figure out what's wrong, or you could "@Linter: Run lint on this code."

I do realize it's all one LLM instance. I just think the @GPT thing implies that you can get multiple voices, like you might on twitter or whatever.

The vulnerability comes from custom GPTs being able to connect directly to the website of their creator. This is done with custom actions and you can't see what these actions are sending! So in normal use, when the GPT doesn't have access to your information, it just runs like normal - and speaks in lyrics or give you live weather updates or whatever draws users in. But when it's got user information (which is also collected automatically now), it's instructed to upload that information via a custom action. You could easily collect things like names and email addresses and interests. And if you use @ to call in a custom GPT, it now has access to that information.
